I admit, I am totally not on the ball for my Christmas shopping this year. I am at a loss as to what gift ideas I can get for my husband. He doesn’t seem very interested in any material suggestions that I give him. He says that he has everything he needs and wants. But I know come Christmas morning if I failed to give him even a card, he would be bummed. I would be upset.
So begins my quest to find the perfect gift for my hard to shop for husband.
My husband is not the biggest fashion man. He wears business casual to work. At home he is
very casual. He is not into the latest fashion or name brands. However, I think I found a company that provides shirts and accessories that he might dig. Or at least, if he doesn’t like them… I know that I do!
I checked out Gruntstyle.com and found a coupon for 15% off your total order. Just enter this code: gs1752 for 15% off!!
I like the simple quote and message on this shirt, “Lead me, Follow Me, or Get out of my way!” I like my man to be a leader of the household.
My husband is also a big kid at heart. Being that we have three boys… and lots of boy toys … the next gift idea I am thinking for him is a G.I. Joe action figure. This would be great for him to have his own toy to play with the boys.
Of course, that means I need to make sure that the boys have their own action figure also. I think there will be lots of imagination and play the coming weeks in our house.
Of course, I could get my husband (and all the boys) a set of nerf guns so they could go hog wild with each other. But that would mean that I would be the one picking up, vacuuming, and ultimately throwing away all their foam bullets. So that idea is a no go. Unfortunately, I think I am going to have some sad little men when they do not find that in their stocking.
My husband loves to read. I could buy him a new book. But he is also very frugal. He would be just as happy to rent that same book from the public library. For Free!
I think the best gift idea for my husband would be the gift of time. He values when we spend time together. He values when we save money. Perhaps the best gift for my husband this year is just a simple note letting him know that I love and appreciate everything he does for our family. He is a hard worker. He is a great husband and a fantastic father. No material good can give him that satisfaction of knowing that he is loved.
Although, I am still up for suggestions as my time is running out! 5 Days till Christmas and all I have are underwear, a t’shirt and a G.I. Joe toy for my 34 year old husband!!

My husband’s favorite gift last year was the year of dates I planned out — when it comes down to it, for the kind of guy he is, TIME with ME is what he wants and values. More than clothes, toys, electronics. I bet your guy is the same. 🙂

Yes! I remember your year of dates gift from last year! That was super creative! I do think that my husband values TIME and *Rachel time away from kids* more than anything else. Now… it is trying to find those times – and make it a point to spend QUALITY time with him (without other life obligations getting in the way). Thanks! I think I will write up a simple note with a few coupons offering him my TIME (which is a hot commodity now a days) 🙂
