Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, step right up to witness the greatest show on Earth: the daily life of a mom, elementary school teacher, grad student, and fitness enthusiast. It’s like juggling flaming swords while riding a unicycle on a tightrope—just with more coffee!
**Balancing Act #1: Mommy Mornings**
My day begins at the crack of dawn when the teenage humans LOUD alarms go off. Ah, the joys of waking up to loud party music, thumping and dropping of heavy weights in the garage, and fighting over whose turn it is in the bathroom.! If my own alarm doesn’t wake me up, the heart jolting teenage noises sure does the trick. It’s like solving a puzzle while simultaneously getting a crash course in negotiation tactics.
**Balancing Act #2: The Teaching Tightrope**
As an elementary school teacher, my classroom is a mini-circus of its own. I wear many hats—entertainer, mediator, and magician (how else can you explain turning a room full of energetic kids into little learners?). Whether I’m planning lessons, communicating with parents, grading papers, tutoring after school or rushing to multiple meetings it’s like preparing for a clown show. Sometimes, I even surprise myself with my ability to find balance and not fall off the tightrope.
**Balancing Act #3: Grad School**
I’m in the midst of pursuing my master’s degree, and that means reading lots of books and articles, writing essays, reflecting and researching like a pro. With one eye on the lecture notes and the other on my family’s color coded busy schedule, it’s the ultimate multitasking experience. Who needs sleep, anyway?
**Balancing Act #4: The Fitness Frenzy**
Now, let’s talk about self-care and fitness. My “me time” consists of finding time to walk and talk with friends. Movement, fresh air and good conversation is good for my sole. I’ll be honest, I am at a point in my busy life that fitting in fitness is not as easy as it once was when the boys were little. I am finding that as I get older, sometimes listening to my body is best. Fitting in fitness when and where I can is part of the frenzy, but I do not stress over whether it got done or not.
**Grand Finale: The Circus Comes Together**
In the end, it’s all about finding the humor in this chaotic circus act I call life. I’ve learned that it’s okay to drop a ball or two (metaphorically, of course), and the juggling act is all part of the fun. My kids see a mom who works hard, a teacher who cares, a student who’s dedicated, and women who values health and fitness. It’s a beautiful blend of chaos and laughter, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So, here’s to all the moms out there trying to juggle their own circus. Keep your chin up, your coffee strong, and your sense of humor intact. You’re all amazing performers in the greatest show on Earth… motherhood!
