I am a goal oriented person, and love keeping records of my progress. This holds true for both my fitness goals as well as my blogging and personal goals. I believe it is important to mark your starting point so you can see how far you have grown.
This is my blog, my safe haven, a place where I can share with you my running adventures in the online space. I started this fun blog back in 2010 and have enjoyed sharing my journey with you!
The past few months, I have been so busy with my potential new career that I have let the blog slip on the back burner. Working full time as a mom, attempting to fit in fitness, and juggle my boys sports schedule left little time for blogging. My non posting, lack of running, and lack of inspiration has led to my stats falling away. Just like when you don’t work out (and eat junk) all your fitness gains are lost.
Both my fitness gains and blogging growth was lost when I lost focus. I got distracted and I didn’t focus on growth… change.
Earlier this week, I read my friend’s, Janice from Fitness Cheerleader, January 2016 Blogging Report. I loved her honesty as she shared her blog and social media stats as well as her growth plans. Being exposed and sharing numbers is not something I am super comfortable with. However, if it will help push me forward with my growth of this blog… it is time to get uncomfortable.
To quote Janice below, these are the things I need to look at in order to see growth and change.
In order to set some goals (and attain them) I need to know a few things:
I need to know where I am now. I need to know what my baseline is. I need to figure out what’s important to me. I need to figure out where I want to go. Then once I know where I want to go, I need to come up with a plan to get there – just like I do with my fitness. And I need accountability to keep me motivated.
So here we are with the first phase in my goal setting. Knowing where I am now, and sharing this with (which also you falls under #5, accountability).

By the looks of my popular posts last month, it appears that I need to write more on running and working out! Next month, I will be showing you my (hopefully) more improved stats. Just like with my fitness goals, my blogging goals of growth won’t happen over night. I need to put plans into place and work to achieve them.
For now I am going to share with you my only goal that I want to achieve over the next month:
Post 3 times/week
My goal is the same as Janice, to promote and write more. I have things to say, however I don’t often feel like writing. I am running again. I am working out more. I am focusing on nutrition. I am focused. Be prepared to hear my training, my successes and struggles, and perhaps see more numbers (weight loss goals) in the future!
