Happy Monday! I will be very honest and share that I was not very active or productive last week. Perhaps it was the rain, the gloom, the wild children, the woe-is-me hole that I was in… I don’t know. I do know that my plan did not happen and I could tell because my mood was grumpy. I need to run even when life gets busy because running makes me happy.
Running, training, eating healthy, baking, homeschooling, traveling, packing, decorating (essentially un-packing), and oh so much more is the adventure I call my life. Life lately is loud and full of chaos. No kidding. My head hurts just trying to organize my day. Thank goodness for lists and my erin condren life planner (use this link to save $10 off your order)!
Even though last week was an off week and my plan didn’t go accordingly… I am holding tight to the fact that I am still moving forward. Staying consistent because what seems hard now will one day be my warm up.
Last Week’s Fitness Plan (What I did):
Monday: Fab5 Boot camp with friends
Tuesday: 6.6 iFit Freemotion treadmill miles
Wednesday: R.I.P.P.E.D. class at the gym
Thursday: rest
Friday: rest
Saturday: active rest: roller skating with friends
Sunday:rest
This week the weather in northern California is supposed to be wicked ugly. Rain. Gloom. Winds. Wicked storm. Ugly! Running with my boys outside isn’t really going to be an option. I am either going to have to settle for the treadmill or spice it up with some cross training. It will get interesting!
This Week’s Fitness Plan (What I plan to do):
Monday: 6-8 easy paced miles finishing strong + 50 SU, 200 WL, F/B squats
Tuesday: active rest
Wednesday: 6×800 + plank + DL & Press 5×5
Thursday: 3 easy
Friday: ? family fun day
Saturday: 8-10 solo!?! miles
Sunday: rest
I am going to do my best to restart the 21 Day Fix nutrition plan this week. I have my menu plan in place. I bought my produce, ingredients, and food! I just need to not let the stresses of life bring me to my love of cookies… that I usually reach for when life gets hard.
Thank goodness for Arnold to remind me to put that cookie down! Did you just read that in his voice? No. Just me then!
Meal Plan (What I plan to eat):
I am planning on eating the same thing for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Dinner will vary but have similar portions and features.
Breakfast |
Snack |
Lunch |
Snack |
Dinner |
Shakeology w/ Almond Milk + banana | 2 HB Eggs + Snap Peas + Hummus | Spinach + Cottage Cheese + Pinneapple + Sunflower Seeds | Stonyfield Greek Yogurt | Protein + Vegetable + Starchy Carb |
Kid-Friendly Dinner Plan:
Monday: White Chicken Chili
Tuesday: Taco Tuesday
Wednesday: Manicotti
Thursday: Left Overs
Friday: Pizza Night
Saturday: Family night (BBQ?)
I am going to try out and test to see if eating the same thing during the day will help me with my portion control and nutrition guidelines. Then during dinner, focusing on filling my plate with primarily vegetables and then a protein is going to be key. Also, drinking 10+ glasses of water!
I am joining the fun with Janice from Fitness Cheerleader for the #MotivateME Monday link up. Sharing my goals, plan, and even struggles is all the name of the game. This is where we help encourage and motivate each other as well as use this tool to stay accountable. I would love it if you were to link up your plan with us!

I really, really, really need to motivatemyself! I know I’m not at my healthiest. I know I’m 15-20 pounds overweight and not thrilled with the way I look, yet I don’t stick with anything long enough to get results… or I sabotage myself. I obviously don’t want to lose weight bad enough or I would :/
Rachel says
Yes. I am in the same boat.

We all have less than stellar weeks. Kudos to you for focusing on still moving forward! Sounds like you have your hands full though. It’s truly a hard trick to balance life/kids/work/working out or running 🙂 here’s to a better week!!

I have not been roller skating in years! I used frequent a place called Hot Skates when I was younger and it was so much fun, I definitely would love to do it again! Looks like you have a great week planned ahead, I have to do more of that with my meals to stay on track!!!
Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner says
We all get a little overwhelmed this time a year and can’t always accomplish everything we set out. hope you get out for that solo run this weekend 🙂

You are ahead of me… At least you have a plan. I have fallen totally off of my plans and goals. I think the cold and rain and loss of daylight has totally screwed me up!
RFC says
I TOTALLY read that in Arnold’s voice 😉 I give you so many kudos for meal planning ahead. I’m the queen of “uhhhh what do you guys want for dinner” and scrambling last minute!

Some weeks are just harder than others, especially with the chaos of kids. Sometimes you just have to hit the reset button the following week and try again. On the bright side at least you got to go roller skating 🙂

I tried so hard to get into the 21DF meal plan concept. Just couldn’t wrap my brain around the containers. Meal planning is easier without them.
Janice - Fitness Cheerleader says
Can I come over for Manicotti tonight? Yum! You did well the first three days, and this week looks like a great plan – Keep up the great work!
Crystal says
Ok, you are totally speaking to me. I’m so out of shape that even the simplest things sound overwhelming. But I know with some commitment, it will be a snap.

I’m desperately needing to into a fitness groove again too. I used to have such a solid routine down.

I haven’t been skating since I was a teenager (so many wonderful memories). I might have to take the kids as they’ve never been. I know there’s a few skating rinks here in Sacramento, so we’ll definitely be going soon (maybe on New Years Eve).

I signed up for a gym membership last week and went for the first time earlier tonight. It was the first time I went to a gym for AGES. I also wouldn’t mind getting back into inline or roller skating, because I greatly enjoyed doing that as a child. 🙂
