I am a never-at-home, stay-at-home, homeschooling mama to three little boys. It seems we are always homeschooling on the go (park, pool, store, adventures). For this exact reason, I am super jazzed to share with you the tmobile free data plan with the T-Mobile Trio AXS 7.85” 4G Tablet! We can take our computer (tablet) work with us as we go and explore the world around us!
With three little brains to teach, who have three different personalities, three different lessons, three different levels… this tablet was a much needed necessity for our homeschooling curriculum. It seems that I am always juggling between each child, their lesson, and giving them stations to work on so I can work one-on-one with each boy.
Adding the Trio AXS Quad Core tablet to our technology mix allows for one child to be working with mom, another child on the desktop and another child on the tablet doing lessons. This rotation helps everyone stay accountable and on task with their lessons for the day. This makes mama happy!
This tablet is just under 8″ in size (a perfect size for little hands or even to fit in my purse for ME to use on-the-go), has both WIFI and 4G connections and runs the Android OS. The price point was under $200 ($179) and comes with 200MB of free data every month – no contract required! If you need more data they have some great additional plans that are contract-free and start as low as $10.
When we aren’t using the tablet in our homeschool rotation (at home) we are learning while on-the-go. This morning while I was on my run with the T-man, he was doing his lessons on abcmouse.com and other free apps that require the internet. This was perfect because we both were happy and entertained. Plus he was learning and doing his school. Mommy win.
The tablet is super easy to find, and in my opinion a great price point considering it comes with 200 MB of free data every 30 days for the life of the tablet! That alone sold me. We found our tablet in the Entertainment department at the back of our local Wal-Mart.
We are very happy to be using the Trio Axs Tablet for our homeschooling while on-the-go. This allows us to go, explore and do without being tied down to wifi or our home desktop.
This also gives me (Mommy) the freedom to multitask while online and enjoying the freedom from being stuck indoors working. Yay for free data!
Do you use a tablet while on-the-go?
What are your favorite educational learning apps?
Would you consider purchasing a tablet if it had free data?

I sooo need a data on the go plan! Would keep the little guy entertained and learning while I’m running and he’s in the jogger. Too bad the closet Tmobile tower is over 5 hours away from us. *sigh*

My husband is looking for a tablet….this might just be it with the free data!

Free data would be a huge plus!

We use our tablet constantly. It keeps the kids entertained on long drives and keeps me connected when I’m away from home. I need to find some more educational apps so it’s not just a toy for the kids.

We haven’t been using our iPad as much as we used to. I don’t know why though, it’s readily available and loaded with games and educational apps… we just don’t use it!

I like the idea of free data with the tablet! My 4 year old swipes my iPad to play learning apps, so this may be something Santa could bring him.

You had me at free and under $200.
I don’t plan on homeschooling my kids per se but I would like to contribute to their education to ensure they are getting the best possible brain work.
Learning while Mama runs? Um….YES!

This sounds like a great tablet! We have iPads but don’t use them that much. You are such a busy Mom!! Love hearing how you juggle homeschooling with three boys!

This is the first time I’ve heard of this tablet. We have the iPad (original) and it is going to become obsolete soon. I need to buy another tablet for the kids. Thanks for this review. I really appreciate it!

That’s exactly what I use my tablet for: on-the-go. The size and portability make it a total win.

I would definitely use a tablet for homeschooling.
Rachel, how do you do it all!? I think you have more hours in your day than I do 🙂
Rachel says
Haha! I am sure one day I will look back and ask myself the same question. <3
I have NO idea how things get done. I *do* know my bathrooms are not as clean as they should be and there are dirty dishes in the sink from last nights dinner (as I sit here drinking my morning coffee). 😉

I actually just purchased a tablet. I have to still play around with it, my kids do much better on it than me LOL

My son has taken over my iPad and though he does play games and watch videos, there are some ‘learning’ apps on there, and he has actually learned a lot from them verses me trying to sit down and teach him something. They are especially good for boys I think!
Kimberly Grabinski says
We don’t use tablets on the go too often. Sometimes I let them if we are on a long drive but we have actually made an effort to limit the technology this year. They don’t get it at all during the week. I know they can be valuable teaching tools but with using them in school, all they want to do at home is play games.

I was looking at this tablet while I was picking up my new phone. I didn’t realize the data plan was so affordable. My kids love the learning tools we have loaded on our tablet.
Ashley M says
Wow, I had no idea there were tablets that came with free data each month! That is really awesome and being homeschoolers, flexibility is key to its important that you have the option to take it on the go!

We all share a tablet. It’s wifi only and I’m fine with that. Free data is a nice feature.
