I received free LeapFrog products in order to host the LeapFrog sponsored MommyParty. The opinions expressed are my own.
When I am not running, I am dreaming of running… often away. Just kidding. Kind of. When I am not running, I am homeschooling my three boys. We are only a few weeks into the school year, and we are excited to spice up our reading and phonics routine.
As a mommy-homeschool-blogger, I was sent a huge package full of LeapFrog LeapReader goodies to use in our homeschool classroom. The boys were over joyed and uber excited to read new books, learn while playing, and explore their new school toys.
The boys loved exploring their books with their LeapReader and having stories read to them and playing games… all while learning at the same time! They were able to read, learn and play independently while exploring their new books, leap reader, and more!
Although for true learning to happen, I need to be present guiding and instructing the two little guys on how to properly use their books and leap reader. But when I am needing a few moments to focus on the oldest during a lesson, this is a great tool for the two younger boys to play while learning.
My new favorite product is their Learn to Read “Ready, Set, Read & Write” book. This books goes hand in hand with our zoo phonics and kinder/preschool curriculum. We can introduce, teach, and reinforce the letter we are working on with this book. When reading the read & write book, they learn the letter identity, sound and even how to properly write it! Perfect!
As you can tell, my 3 year old needs a bit more supervision and help with the read and write book, but he enjoyed doing it himself and following the audio cues on how to properly form his letter and number. Practice makes progress… not perfection.
I am excited to use the talking word cards and read and write (c-v-c) book to help P (kindergarten) with his site words and reading readiness. My kindergartner loves math, and even though he knows his letters and phonemic sounds… it is a fight to get him to sit and read with me. It is my hope that the use of the fun LeapFrog LeapReader system and books will encourage him to enjoy reading.
I love when I find products that encourage and reinforce that learning and reading is fun! LeapFrog has an amazing line of products that do just that. I am looking forward to seeing my children’s reading skills improve over time as they play, learn, and grow with the LeapReader reading and writing system!
Do your children have LeapFrog products? What is your (child’s) favorite?
Disclosure: I received free LeapFrog products in exchange to share an honest review on my blog. The onions expressed her are my own and no compensation was received.

We’ve always loved Leapfrog. The reader helped my now 8 year old learn how to read. Thankfully we kept the reader we have and now use it with our 3yo.

Now that is neat, I have seen commercials for this and have wondered if it would help my youngest learn quicker and maybe assist my middle child with his penmanship too.
