I love to read. I love to learn new things, and books are a great way to search, read, and learn new things. We always are reading in our family. Between our weekly trips to the public library and my new obsession with downloading great reads on my kindle, the abundance of good books is great.
Last week, I shared with you five random books that we were reading as a part of our preschool homeschool curriculum. This week I am sharing with you five books that I am reading. These books are totally connected with parenting and eating healthy.
As a retired classroom teacher, I sometimes wonder what the connection is with children’s behavior and their nutrition. What effect does sugar, processed foods and man made dyes have on them: behavior and more.
I am curious about the paleo lifestyle for my own well being… but also for my spirited strong-willed middle child. My middle son seems very sensitive to his surroundings: sound, light, smells, tastes, etc. But more so his moods and behavior have definite shifts according to his nutrition.
I am still doing my research on this whole paleo diet/lifestyle. But when I get all my information together, I look forward to committing to a 30 day challenge for myself and my family. I am seriously interested to see if this diet change will have a positive effect on my children’s behavior.
Have you ever considered the Paleo Diet?
Do you notice a shift in your child’s behavior when they eat certain foods?

I hope you blog some of your findings about any positive effects with trying paleo. I have a mid-kid who sounds similar to yours! Best of luck and keep us posted.

Thanks. Yes. When I was a classroom teacher, I could totally tell when my students had a sugary/processed foods breakfast… because they would crash mid morning. Heck, you could even tell when my students were from families who smoked.. because mid morning they were going throuh similar withdrawl symptoms (from the lack of nicotine in their system).
