I am a runner. I may not have qualified to run Boston this year. I may have been qualified and chosen not to run. I may have been injured and unable to run. I may never have qualified. But, I am a runner. And, my heart is in Boston today!
I love the community of runners. We come in all shapes, sizes, ages, sexes and backgrounds. Yet we all support each other and get each other. There is something very sobering when tragedy hits home. We want to stick together. We pray for each other. We are a family.
In support of the horrific event that happened this morning in Boston, I encourage you to show your support of our running community.
Wear a race shirt tomorrow in honor of those in Boston and to show unity in our community
As always, please continue to pray for those who are the helpers: Doctors, First Responders, and especially the (non emergency trained) Runners and Race Officials who ran back toward the blast and smoke to help. They have shown us hope and grace and kindness … and in turn, they saw unimaginable things today. They need our support too.
As I plan, prep and pack for my upcoming race this weekend… I am proud to be a member of such an amazing community of runners. I will continue to pray for those who were effected by today’s events… and will proudly wear a race shirt to show my support.

This whole thing is just heartbreaking but I’m finding comfort in knowing that the FBI is coming closer to those that caused this devastation.
