Happy Fitness Inspiration Friday! Today is the first Friday in February, how are you doing with your fitness goals for 2012? Remember to stay consistent and you will continue to see results! Practice makes progress.
This week’s fitness inspiration is my twitter friend Laila. I met her through an online fitness community and have enjoyed supporting, encouraging, and following her journey through the year. Laila is one of my FitSpirations!
Tell me a little bit about your fitness journey
I joined the Mamvation online community about a year ago in search of some support as I tried to lose 30 pounds by my 30th birthday. I am proud to say that I lost 20lbs over the summer by walking (trying to jog!), using my Wii and various fitness DVDs. I also had the help of a registered dietitian who provided a meal plan and helped me understand portion control and meal planning. I will admit that I have slacked off in recent weeks. I realize that when I don’t make my health a priority, my body is fatigued. My future goals include continued portion control and daily physical activity.
What is your fitness LOVE?
I really enjoy Cardio exercises. There is something about sweating that makes me feel energized and ready for the day. My favorite exercise is Tae Bo and the Michael Jackson Experience on the Wii. They are fun yet a great way to get moving.
What is your ONE piece of fitness advice you find helpful to keep you motivated?
Baby steps. When I began on my journey I expected the weight to just fall off and for my body to crave nothing but fruit, veggies and water. However, I didn’t gain the weight overnight so it wasn’t going to come off overnight. I had to set small and definite goals to achieve my desired weight loss.
If you would like to continue to be inspired and follow Laila’s fitness journey, you can read and follow her on her blog and or twitter. Laila is my fitspiration!

I’m with you. Baby steps. And… I like to tell my client that every little thing counts. 🙂 A step in the right direction is just that, big or small, it doesn’t matter. It’s in the right direction. 🙂
