Post Workout Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie

Fueling our muscles post workout is just as important as the workout itself.  When we workout we are breaking down the muscles… and we need rest and fuel to repair those broken down muscles.  For me, I enjoy drinking my nutrient dense protein shake post workout.  It is not only delicious but it is doing so many amazing things for my body and muscles post workout. I made this delicious post workout strawberry banana smoothie earlier this week.  I shared it with the boys, and they drank it right up.  We all enjoyed this tasty strawberry treat.  Continue Reading

Finding Motivation + Weekly Fitness and Meal Plan #MotivateME

2014-11-12-10.47.59.jpg

Finding and maintaining the motivation and drive to reach a goal has its high moments and low moments.  I know that I struggle with staying the course, and often find the desire to give up… just as I am seeing success.  Finding motivation and accountability is key, for me,  with sticking to my health and fitness goals. When you are trying to motivate yourself, appreciate the fact that you are even thinking about making a change, and as you move forward, allow yourself to be good enough.  You are good enough.  You are worth it. Weekly Fitness and Nutrition Plan

IMG_2551.jpg

Let the games begin!  Oh the adventure and excitement of change is upon us.  Learning the art of balance, juggling, and fitting in fitness, proper nutrition, homeschooling three little brains, all while solo parenting is going to be key this week.  Making sure I fit in some Mommy “Me time” is really going to be a priority for me. My husband started his job back in the Midwest today.  Yay!  That praise is followed by a quick and heavy sigh as I sit here in Sacramento typing away at my keyboard.  We still need to pack up the house, resume Continue Reading

I have been slacking on my nutrition and hydration lately.  I know this.  Yet, I have been too lazy to honestly make any real changes.  I needed to make a clean break from my bad eating habits and do something to kick start my healthy eating.  I decided to try out beachbody’s new 3 day program called the 3-Day Refresh. This program is only 3 days long.  I figured I could do anything for 3 days, right!? The refresh is a fast, clean break.  A way to drop a few pounds in a hurry (in a healthy way) or break some bad habits. The 3-day refresh Continue Reading

Ditch The Scale and Find Happiness

Ditch the scale

I am a victim to my scale.  I have a love hate relationship with it.  I love when it tells me a good number and hate it when it tells me a larger number.  Funny how a simple machine can dictate my happiness.  Today, my friend Janice will be sharing her story and experience how she ditched the scale to find happiness. Back in December 2009 I did something drastic – I threw out my scale. Frustrated with my creeping weight, I joined an online weight loss support group.  The first three things I learned from the group was: Weigh yourself Continue Reading
