Weekly Fitness and Nutrition Plan

Let the games begin!  Oh the adventure and excitement of change is upon us.  Learning the art of balance, juggling, and fitting in fitness, proper nutrition, homeschooling three little brains, all while solo parenting is going to be key this week.  Making sure I fit in some Mommy “Me time” is really going to be a priority for me. My husband started his job back in the Midwest today.  Yay!  That praise is followed by a quick and heavy sigh as I sit here in Sacramento typing away at my keyboard.  We still need to pack up the house, resume Continue Reading

3 Day Refresh Results

2014-08-13-18.36.38.jpg

I have been slacking on my nutrition and hydration lately.  I know this.  Yet, I have been too lazy to honestly make any real changes.  I needed to make a clean break from my bad eating habits and do something to kick start my healthy eating.  I decided to try out beachbody’s new 3 day program called the 3-Day Refresh. This program is only 3 days long.  I figured I could do anything for 3 days, right!? The refresh is a fast, clean break.  A way to drop a few pounds in a hurry (in a healthy way) or break some bad habits. The 3-day refresh Continue Reading

Ditch The Scale and Find Happiness

Ditch the scale

I am a victim to my scale.  I have a love hate relationship with it.  I love when it tells me a good number and hate it when it tells me a larger number.  Funny how a simple machine can dictate my happiness.  Today, my friend Janice will be sharing her story and experience how she ditched the scale to find happiness. Back in December 2009 I did something drastic – I threw out my scale. Frustrated with my creeping weight, I joined an online weight loss support group.  The first three things I learned from the group was: Weigh yourself Continue Reading

Happy Monday!  Today the running community banded together to watch and cheer on the Boston Marathon.  As a community, family, of runners this race and event is huge.  It bonds us together with a common interest and heart… the love of running.  We are resilient and never give up.  We are strong.  Running Strong.  Boston Strong. “This is beyond running, we are resilient and never give up.” Meb Keflezighi Meb Keflezighi won and completed the Boston Marathon in 2:08:37.  That is my half marathon Continue Reading

Weighing in on Weight Loss

weight loss reflections and reasons why i can

It has been a while since I shared my weight loss journey.  In fact, I have been shying away from sharing the number and even discussing weight loss… while focusing mainly on the importance of being healthy.  However, it is time in my journey to weigh in and share with you my weight loss goals, journey, and status… or lack there of. My weight has not changed (or has slowly increased in number about 5-10 pounds) the past year.  It is not for lack of trying.  I have been running like crazy and have tried to focus on nutrition and portion Continue Reading

21 Day Fix Meal Plan and Fitness Plan: Week 2

your intentions a week ahead. people who plan achieve._thumb.jpg

Last week was my first week of the 21 Day Fix fitness and meal plan.  I must say that I am pleasantly pleased with the program and nutrition program.  I was never hungry and felt satiated the whole day.  My energy level was constant.  The only kicker with this is you need to make sure you have a plan for the day/week… otherwise it is really easy to fail. The fitness program is customizable to all fitness levels and abilities.  I found myself sore the next day which surprised me… in a good way!  I plan to add in running to the fitness Continue Reading
