Happy Monday! I will be honest, this week I will be needing a lot of extra motivation to fit everything on my to do list in the day. As the boys get older, our days get busier. Our days are filled with summer camps, sport camps, friends, activities and more! We are having so much fun… and my pocket book is feeling the effects of their activities. Ha!
Last week I was able to fit in fitness with the boys. It was a what you can when you can type week with regards to fitting in fitness.
Monday: 21DF Dirty 30 + 1 mile walk
Tuesday: 21DF Total Body Fix + 4 mile run
Wednesday: 21DF Upper Fix + 1 mile walk
Thursday: 21DF Lower Fix + 1 mile walk
Friday: Run 4 miles while chasing boys on bikes
Saturday: 3 mile power walk (too hot to run)
This week the rain has stopped… and unfortunately the summer heat and humidity has camped out for a visit. It is wicked hawt out there this week. I am taking a step back from running and going to focus on staying indoors with my fitness… doing workout videos in my air conditioned home. My mom is also coming to visit for a few days… so I don’t think I will be doing intentional fitness on those days. I want to enjoy the time spent with her and my boys.
Monday: 21DF Dirty 30
Tuesday: 21DF Total Body Fix
Wednesday: active family fun (WOF)
Thursday: active family fun (KC Zoo)
Friday: 21DF Upper Fix + 21DF Lower Fix
Saturday: Solo Run?!
The boys will be busy this week with vacation Bible school, soccer camp, football camp and making memories with their Nana. Each day my boys wake asking, “What fun activity are we doing today!?” Well… this week is jam-packed full of them! I just hope they will be able to keep up! Summer is coming to an end quickly… only a few more weeks till school starts again!
Have a healthy, active and productive week!

It is tough with this heat. Way to be smart and switch it up when you need to.

What’s your favorite 21DF workout? I did Upper Fix this morning before my walk. I also like Dirty 30 … have done Lower Fix, Yoga Fix, and Pilates Fix … meh.
Ange @ Cowgirl Runs says
I definitely prefer active days to intentional fitness when visiting with friends and family. I find it a much more relaxed way to fit fitness in.
Margo says
I prefer fun activities to workouts. Usually!

It just keeps raining everyday here! Agree sometimes workouts inside are the way to go. I haven’t tried the videos you do. Have a great week!
Nicole @ Fitful Focus says
I love that your boys are so active! They must have a good mom or something ;-P

Staying active with your boys sounds like a great plan, especially when the weather gets as hot and humid as its been lately.

Way to get your workouts in despite the heat & challenging schedule! Summer extracurricular activities are no joke!
I have a sort of dumb question for you. Is there somewhere to join to the link up or do I just use the hashtag? I don’t see an inlinkz or anything, but my brain is slightly fried right now, so I could be totally missing it, lol!

keeping up with your boys and all their activities sounds like a great way to stay active to me!!

I spend so much time indoors with work and what not, that I look forward to getting outside no matter how hot or humid it is.

My kids just started up with swim lessons again last week and it seems like that, plus appointments, playdates and just daily living, we are go-go-go nonstop.

Running in the heat is so hard. I’m spoiled now too, after a couple days at the beach. An active life with family is much more rewarding for all involved.

Yes! Summer has gotten totally crazy and I’m having a hard time dragging myself out of bed at zero dark thirty to get a workout in!! The struggle is real!!
Patty @ Reach Your Peak says
Sounds like a fun summer so far! Last week was killer here with the humidity, it was really killing my runs. Enjoy the time with your mom!
MCM Mama Runs says
I enjoy the summers with my boys much more when I’m not training. The summers I’ve just focused on keeping moving and eating healthy have been a lot more enjoyable than my two marathon training summers. I need to remember that for future summers…

Here in Waterloo, if it isn’t ridiculously hot, it’s raining. Neither are really conducive to fun activities, other than sleeping, but I’m hoping that this week looks up. Hopefully your week of heat won’t be that bad!
