I am partnering with SUNSTAR GUM to share the importance of gum health. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.
Healthy living starts with a healthy mouth… your gums matter! Healthy gums are important for a healthy mouth and a healthy body. Gums, and the jawbone underneath, are very important for supporting and nourishing the teeth. Healthy gums also contribute to good looking teeth.
Why Your Gums Matter
-
Healthy gums are important for a healthy mouth and a healthy body
-
Gum disease changes the appearance of the mouth and can weaken the support for your teeth
-
Gum disease has been linked to diabetes, heart disease and other illnesses
By arming yourself with the right dental products and by using them every day, scheduling regular check-ups, and being aware of how oral health relates to overall health, you’ll be well on your way to healthier teeth, healthier gums – and a healthier you.
Healthy gums are for a healthy mouth. A healthy mouth is a healthy body. When you don’t take care of your mouth you can have something as minor as stinky breath to more affect of gum disease. Gum disease can be linked to diabetes, heart disease and other illnesses.

We all know what to do to live a healthy lifestyle, eat healthy, and even how to take care of our mouth (teeth and gums). Remembering to take time out of our day to take care of you is the important thing. If you don’t take care of your mouth… you could lose your teeth due to gum disease. Healthy living encompasses the whole body… including your mouth.
Everyday Tips for a Healthy Mouth
- Use a good toothbrush
- Brush 2x a day
- Floss every day
- Use a mouth wash or oil pull (if you really want to pull toxins)
- Visit your dentist every 6 months
Your gums matter. A healthy mouth = healthy gums = a healthy life. I am trying to make sure that I am a healthy role model for my three boys… to take care of their mouth (and teeth). No one wants to sit close to (or kiss) someone who has stinky breath with an unhealthy mouth. Take care of you… take care of your gums.

I visit my dentist every 6 months. I just left the dentist yesterday and thankfully…no cavities! My Nana always says…”you don’t play about your mouth or your feet.” Finding this very true the older I get!

I just started getting back to the dentist regularly. It’s SO SO SO important. I need to start flossing more, though, for sure! Thanks for the reminder!

I know a couple people who’ve had serious problems with gum disease. I brush, floss and see the dentist very regularly.

Ugh this just reminded me I need to go to the dentist…I HATE THE DENTIST! So much. They always make my gums bleed so much and it hurts! I’m a total baby about it lol.
I haven’t tried oil pulling but am very curious about it. Idk about swirling coconut oil in my mouth though…I’ll let you know if I try it!

My dentist yells at me every time I go in for brushing too hard — apparently it’s making my poor gums recede 🙁 Gum health is super important!

I never miss a cleaning. It helps that I like to get my teeth clean 🙂
I remember one time in college when I went to get my teeth cleaned the dentist asked if I was under a lot of stress. I wondered what the heck. It was finals week so sure more stress than usual. He said he could tell by my gums.

I used to hate going to the dentist. But now I’m thankful my mom dragged all us kids there regularly up to when we went to college. I’m quite thankful for having good oral health because I’ve seen how bothersome it can be when teeth and gums cause issues.
