Happy Monday! Now that marathon training is over, it is time for me to take a step back to reflect upon my goals. I am feeling great and ready to run, but really want to take one more slow-and-easy week to really recover before jumping in to my next fitness adventure.
Last week I enjoyed the slower pace and recovery mode. I did a lot of active recovery with walking and living life with the boys. This week I have plans to reintroduce running again to my daily routine. I am going to do easy runs, making sure my muscles are repaired and body is ready to resume running and possibly training for my next race.
I am going to be focusing a lot on nutrition and flexibility… as I have been slacking in those two areas the past few months.
Here is my fitness plan for the week:
Monday: 3 easy miles + PiYo: Align Fundamentals
Tuesday: PiYo: Define Lower Body
Wednesday: 3 easy miles + PiYo: Define Upper Body
Thursday: 4.5 comfortable miles
Friday: PiYo: Define Lower & Upper Body
Saturday: Soccer games – family weekend (possibly family bike ride?)
No cute pictures. No meal plans to share this week (most evenings will be busy with soccer practices and games… so dinner will be quick and NOT glamorous).
I am dreaming up and planning for my next fitness adventure and goals. Stay tuned because I am excited to share with you what I have planned!
Have a great week!

Woot woot I’ve been on a similar journey. I’m doing a 28 day body detox, kicking my sugar and caffeine habits and relearning what it feels like to be hungry instead of bored. I’m trying to amp up my workouts too! Great feeling to get back in the groove!

Congrats on your marathon and enjoy and savor the recovery time. It is funny how flexibility falls to the wayside when marathon training intensifies. Good job getting back to it.

I usually take a solid 2 weeks off after running a marathon before I get back into the swing of things. I started back this week in fact! My first run back was a 10 mile race, go big or go home right,? LOL.

Everything sounds good but where’s the strength training? That will definitely help your runs. My evenings are NOW filled with LAX practice and games. 🙂
