I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for American Express. I received thank you item for my participation.
Traveling with young children can be stressful. As a mom who often travels with her children to visit family, having a clean and safe place to rest in between flights is key for a successful and stress free travel! I am excited to share with you my experience touring and visiting The Centurion Lounge in San Francisco.
A few weeks ago, on behalf of Mom Central, the boys and I took a trip to San Francisco International Airport to check out The American Express Centurion Lounge. The new lounge is the first one on the West Coast and the fourth location in a network that is expanding in major airports across the United States.
The super cool thing about this is that if you have an American Express Card you can have access to this facility too! The things I loved about it were that it was CLEAN, the staff was super FRIENDLY, the food was healthy, whole, and yummy, there was free WiFi, and so much more!
Wine & Dine… with great food and drink: Featuring Napa Valley inspired, seasonal cuisine curated by Christopher Kostow, chef at The Restaurant at Meadowood, as well as signature cocktails by renowned mixologist Jim Meehan. There is something for the hungry traveler to fill their tummy, or an adult beverage to take the edge off travel stress.
Not one to turn down food, my monkeys (and I) enjoyed having brunch in the Lounge. I liked that there was healthy options for the boys. They loved the fresh fruit (all the fruit!) This is a great feature (and worth the price in my book) to enjoy a warm meal that is good for you (versus the food court option).
Work & Play: Connected work spaces include high speed Wi-Fi and outlets near every seat, and a sound-proof family room allows a safe and fun place for kids to play. The couches were comfortable, there were ample plug ins to recharge devices, and even a TV to watch kid-friendly movies in the family room. Oh… I do wish every airport had this lounge!
Relax & Recharge: Thoughtfully appointed relaxation areas and luxurious shower suites provide an optimal place to refresh, and Member Services Professionals on-staff can help assist with Card inquiries and travel services.
We visited the day before the lounge opened, so there was a lot going on that morning. We enjoyed giggling and being amazed at a balloon creating magician. He was hilarious!
We currently live in Sacramento, and in order to visit my family we spend an entire day flying cross country. It is draining. Taxing. Stressful. Yet, having a lounge that is family-friendly like The Centurion Lounge would be a great stress reliever with traveling.
Entry to The Centurion Lounges is complimentary for consumer, Business and Corporate Platinum Card and Centurion® Members, and their immediate family or up to two travel companions. Other American Express Credit and Charge Card Members may purchase a one-day pass at The Centurion Lounge for $50.
If you currently have an American Express card, I personally think the $50 is worth the entry. If I were traveling to visit family, I would pay my $50 to get in (one adult plus children are included in that price). The price is worth it for the food alone… not to mention clean bathrooms, safe place to roam, and it is clean!
We enjoyed visiting the American Express Centurion Lounge, and now are reconsidering how we travel… we were spoiled! This post is sponsored by Mom Central and American Express Centurion Lounge. All opinions and experiences are my own.

I’ve heard about the lounge and am excited to test it out. If you are stuck in airport for more than an hour with kids, this is a great option for sure. Nice!
Penelope says
Look at all the fun they are having, it looks like such an enjoyable experience!

I think so often our kids get lost in the shuffle. Its great to see the Centurion Lounge has a place for them.

Wow, it looks like you guys had a blast. It’s not easy traveling with kids.

I have never been to their airport, let alone been to California, but WOW – that lounge is so swanky! Love, love, love.

How fun! And the looks on the kids faces are sooo cute!!! What a fun place to visit!
Kecia says
I haven’t flown enough to take advantage of a hotel lounge, but wow, this one would be my top choice! That food is enough to get me to chill out in there while waiting for a flight.
Krystyn @ Really, Are You Serious? says
What a great idea. No matter how short of a flight we have, with parking, shuttling and waiting at the airport, we almost always end up needing food while we are there. And, entertainment would certainly help!
Liz Mays says
That sounds like a lot of fun for the kids! Glad you had a fun time together!
Lisa @ Crazy Adventures in Parenting says
OMG! That looks AMAZING! The smiles on your boys faces, OMGosh! The cutest!!
robyn says
That looks so nice! The few times we have flown with our kids we have been lucky not to have long waits pre-flight or long layovers however if we were I would definitely pay $50 for a nice clean safe place to hang out.
Liz Mays says
OH, I definitely would too. It’s totally worth that fee!

I have never heard of the lounge but it sure looks like a cool place. We do plan on traveling west to visit our daughter soon. Maybe we can check it out.

Wow! I am so impressed by all of the offerings in the lounge. After just having been delayed, I would certainly appreciate a comfortable place to relax & wait for my flight.
Leah says
This looks amazing and DEFINITELY something I would want to take advantage of if I were traveling with my kids like that!
TerriAnn @ Cookies & Clogs says
That does look like a really nice place. I know my husband (you can see him in one of your photos 🙂 ) and daughter liked it. Since we’re so close to SFO, we probably wouldn’t need to use it but maybe at one of the other locations for a stopover.
Anne - Mommy Has to Work says
Most definately! It looks like a great way to wind down and re-charge.
Valerie Remy-Milora says
Wow that lounge looks amazing and would certainly ease a lot of traveling stress! I live in LA and my siblings are all on the east coast and my parents in France so visiting family always means air travel and looong days!
Jenn says
I love fresh fruit! All the kids look so happy, the magician must have been a blast!
Tammy says
It would definitely peak my interest for long stop overs. I remember traveling when my daughter was little and sometimes if you have to wait 3 or 4 hours for your next flight it can be frustrating for those little ones when they need to burn off some energy.
Marina says
Definitely! I love that there’s a way for parents to unwind and the kids to stay entertained. And best of all it doesn’t seem too crowded.

If I traveled, I’d definitely use this! I can see a great benefit from a service like this for kids (and parents)!

This looks like a fantastic option for families! We have never all flown together since all of our family lives within driving distance, but I would definitely appreciate a lounge like this.
