Fitness and Health Plan for This Week

Monday: easy 5 miles/core
Tuesday: core/WOD
Wednesday: Tempo 5 mile run
Thursdayeasy 4 miles/core
Friday: XT/WOD
Saturday: long and slow 9 miles
Sunday: XT/rest

Health Goals/Plan

I have meal planned for our family dinners – and I have planned my breakfast /lunch /snacks to keep me on track.

I am limiting (attempting to forgo all together) soda this week!

I WILL be incorporating more whole foods (fruits and vegetables) into my diet.

I am loving that my gym is now super full of new years resolutioners.  Even though it is uber crowded… I love seeing people make the choice to be active and move!

That being said, I had this epiphany.  I am always at the gym.  Yet, my weight and size hasn’t really shifted or changed since going regularly.  I would think that because of my activity level… I would appear to be more physically fit.  wrong

My nutrition is off.  Way off.  I need to make a more conscious effort with my food choices.  The past few days I have been watching many graphic food documentaries off of Netflix.  I am learning loads.  Of course, the two I have watched encourage a more plant based diet… but it makes sense.  I am still interested in and researching the paleo diet… but for me… I realize that I need to focus on and eat more whole foods that are close to the earth.

progress

I need to stay away from the processed, refined, junk food.  I will not quit. I am making progress and even though it may be slow.  It is progress! Bring on a healthy and active 2013!  I am going to look on the outside how I feel on the inside.

I will get the fit out!

What are you doing to reach your health and fitness goals for 2013?

Cheers to that! I am making more strides at making my outside look like what I think it should look like. I really thought that my diet was spot on, but I got a personal trainer just to take it all out of my hands (Groupon…thank god). My trainer has given me a strict diet to follow “for the time being” to totally reset me and then hopefully I can gradually add in the things I love and am not willing to give up forever. Best of luck with your new fitness goals this year!! You can do it!

Awesome that your trainer also gave you a nutrition plan to follow! The two that I have worked with in the past ONLY focused on the fitness side of the equation. :sigh: It is two fold, IMHO. :)

Best of luck with your fitness goals too!

I used to be a a HUGE soda drinker! Mainly diet soda. Once I gave it up I lost 10 pounds almost right away! It’s one of the best small changes you can make.

Love that outlook! I am setting small goals, ones that are easier for me to meet, then add on. I’ve also been trying to limit soda and am trying not to snack after 9pm. Thanks for sharing your progress and helping other move in the right direction as well.

I am with you. If I ate as well as I worked out, I’d look a whole lot better. For me clean eating goes in fits and starts while exercise is a habit. I need to change that! Happy New Year!

I do pretty well with keeping the junk food at bay… now getting motivated to exercise, that is where I struggle.

Nutrition is definitely what I’m focusing on this year. As much as I workout I should look the part, but this stomach just won’t go away, time to cut out the junk!

I watched “Hungry for a Change” on Netflix and had the immediate urge to clean out my kitchen pantry and replace it all with “real” food! Then I actually followed through and cleaned them out. I went from 4 (floor to ceiling pantries) to 2.5 . The empty space is amazing and I’m figuring out how to fill it! I already have a “produce” cupboard where everything that doesn’t need a fridge goes – my best idea ever!

I’m making 2013 my year as well. May we kick a$$!

Love the concept of get the fit out! That’s a cool way to put it. I too, have similar goals. Sounds like your workouts are out of this world! All of those workouts you have listed sound super intense (at least compared to what I’m doing these days). Good for you, woman! While I’m consistent with working out, my goal for this month is to be a lot more consistent with my eating habits. Exercise + a crappy diet = nothing that great. But exercise + overall good diet = I feel fit! Best of luck to ya lady!
