I shared earlier today about how I detest Halloween. I do NOT like the holiday. I do NOT like what the day means, brings, and the history of it.
However, I am a creative woman with a wonderful imagination. One of my favorite things to do with my husband when we were dating was to dress up in funny themed outfits. We would try to come up with some of the most outrageous outfits and go all out. When my girlfriends were dressed in super cute, form fitting outfits… I was dressed up in hideous HILARIOUS attire.
This love of dress up and costumes has been passed down to our children. Dressing up in costume is fun. The boys (and I) dress up year round. We don’t just use our costumes on one day a year. We play dress up multiple times a day, almost every day! You can take on a whole new personality and life.
The one thing I do like about Halloween is all the fun and creative costumes that are available. I am not a fan of the creepy and gory creations… but the fun loving costumes are my favorite!
I guess I am not such a Scrooge for Halloween after all! Just a goofy personality who loves to play dress up!

I hear ya! I’m not into Halloween at all but my husband thinks costumes are SO fun. We once attended our church’s trunk or treat dressed up…uhm…a biker gang couple? Fake tattoo sleeves fishnets, etc. In the parking lot lighting, we really freaked out our youth director. She didn’t recognize us at first. It was great. We got odd looks from parents. This was only like 4 yrs ago.

Haha!! Oh my goodness… that is hilarious!! I can only imagine the youth directors face! 🙂 Priceless!!

I’m not a costume person. Never have been. I love to see kids about toddler age in costumes. So stinkin’ cute!

I love when I see little kids in costumes. They are so cute! My 2 year old was dressed as a fireman last night, and he got MORE compliments and ‘oohs’ than my two older boys. I think it was the mustache. <3

Haha… Great blog! Believe it or not, I saw a kid last night that looked to be around 8 years old dressed up as Slash (From Guns and Roses). I said to the kid, “how the heck do you know Slash” he simply turns to me, plays his air guitar and yells “G n R Baby!!” and runs off to the next house. Really took me back about 20 years!!
Rachel says
Haha!! That is HILARIOUS!! 🙂

Fun! I don’t dress up very often but my usual Halloween costume is Pippy Longstocking – remind me to find a pic, I have one somewhere….
Rachel says
Oh how fun!! I would LOVE to see you dressed as Pippy Longstocking! 🙂

I prefer to stay at home and hide on Halloween. I don’t want tons of candy in my house 🙂 But I do go to Trunk or Treat at church.
Everyone’s outfit is cute! I can’t think of anything that sticks out in my mind as far as costumes.
Rachel says
Yes… just KNOWING that I have candy in my house is a temptation that I am having trouble avoiding 🙂
