A few weeks ago, I was sent this book to review from BookSneeze.
I was super excited to dive in and read a more in-depth look of God’s Word.
I am not sure about you, but I have a GRIP of questions I want to ask God when I get to heaven.
Some of my questions are silly like, “Why are there mosquitoes?” and “Why can’t our belly buttons pop out like a thermometer stuck in a Thanksgiving turkey when our body is FULL and doesn’t need to eat anymore calories?”
Some are more theoretical like, “Was a virgin birth really necessary?” and “Why are all sins created equal in your eyes?”
Granted, I firmly believe we won’t REALLY know these answers until we go to Heaven and ask Him ourselves. We can also find the answers when we read the Bible.
But many of us don’t have the Biblical knowledge or know how to find those answers to many of our questions. This is where the book, A Conversation with God comes in handy.
Book Description
A front row seat to a fascinating conversation with God, Jesus, and other biblical characters answering important questions women have regarding life and faith.
A Conversation with God for Women allows readers a one-on-one dialogue with God, Jesus, and other important biblical characters as they respond to questions and concerns relevant to the Christian faith. The often challenging questions address issues and tensions specifically felt by women. Each answer, designed for both believers and seekers, is based on Scripture and written with the warmth and intimacy of a Heavenly Father relating to His child.
Personal Opinion
This book was very easy to read and follow. Each question is answered by multiple characters from the Bible (God, Jesus, Mary, etc). It gives you a unique view of how THEY would answer your question.
I found the responses to the questions interesting and thought provoking. Yet, I had a hard time digging in and believing that it really was God or Jesus answering those hard to answer questions.
I know that there are other books on the market that have a similar approach to their writing: Hard to answer questions and the Biblical answers. I have read a few books of that nature and have found them to be an easier (educational) read and more informative of the facts.
Perhaps, I prefer a method based purely on Biblical references and scholarly data to back up those hard to answer questions.
I do like how each answer is drawn from Scripture with biblical references so the reader can explore the truth for themselves.
I think this book would be a good addition to your library to get a different perspective of some of life’s burning questions. However, I think you must pair this book with a solid Bible to REALLY get your questions answered fully and truthfully.
