I am a fantastic mom, if the cute little saying I found on pinterest is true! Good moms have sticky floors, dirty ovens, and happy kids. Funny how that is not how most of us (myself included) would chalk up a busy day of motherhood as a good day. I find myself thinking that when my floors are clean (not sticky), oven is clean (not sticky), and kids are clean (not sticky)… Mommy is happy… thus the kids are happy.
Yet, it is so true. My kids don’t care if the house is clean, toys put away, and the room arranged and put together like a photo in a magazine. They are happiest when the house is lived in with lots of laughter and love.
As a busy mom to three little active messy boys, I find that mess and stickiness is the ongoing theme for my home. My boys drip juice, jam, or glue from crafts on to my freshly swept and mopped floors. The boys faces are crusted in stickiness from snack, lunch or some random item they found to apply on their face. My boys are a sticky Pig Pen mess at all times!!
{le sigh}
My boys are happy! We are still working on the happy Mommy part with dealing with all the stickiness.
I was recently sent a book to review and give away to one of you! It is called The Pantry Cleaner: Chemical Free Cleaning. I instantly was hooked to finding and reading different green cleaners to clean the stickiness from my home without bombarding my home with harmful chemicals.
We as mom’s do all that we can to protect our family from harm. A clean home shouldn’t mean risking respiratory distress, destroying the ability to smell, or potentially leading to cancer. The Pantry Cleaner will teach you how to clean without the use of harmful chemicals in this informative, conversational and vital guide to cleaning.
Our homes may appear clean, but many are polluted with many different toxins. In Reutlinger’s book she shares that it is possible to have a clean home without using harsh cleaners, using items that are safe to eat and breathe.
Her book shares recipes to make your own green household cleaners, as well as ingredients (chemicals) in store bought cleaners and their adverse side effects.
She includes recipes to make your own cleaners from all purpose cleaners to making your own laundry soap! She has it all!
I have enjoyed using the simple pantry cleaner recipe, Quick Disinfectant (1 cup white vinegar and 1/2 gallon water), to help de-germ the house during the cold/flu season. I love that this cleaner is non-toxic and my children are able to use their own spray bottles to help me clean and disinfect the house.
I would love for YOU to have the opportunity to own your OWN autographed book, The Pantry Cleaner.

I want to be a great mom with happy kids, but if it’s too messy I don’t like our home anymore. It just feels disorganized and messy. So I try to find a good balance between letting go, and some good housekeeping.
