This week we have been enjoying Calvin’s spring break and The Man’s vacation. My parents are set to arrive late this evening, so fun and adventure is all around today! We have been enjoying fantastic family time!!
We spent the majority of the day outside enjoying the sunshine and warmer temperatures.
Adventure was to be had using our imaginations with sidewalk chalk.
Peyton wanted me to draw him a really big monster truck that he could drive.
Calvin then followed suit and asked for me to make him a really fast and super cool race car to drive.
Notice the pimped out wheels and grill that he added to his race car. Later he added fire coming from the exhaust. Boys.
I had three very happy little men who were very proud of their trucks and race cars. That little activity entertained them for the better part of the morning. Fun times.
Fitness: To help combat the afternoon crankies of three little boys who were very excited for their Nana & Papaw’s visit The Man and I decided to divide and conquer… while getting our sweat on.
My husband pulled a tired Peyton in the bike trailer while Calvin rode his bike next to them.
I loaded Tristen in the double jogger – WITH our dog Daisy (in the jogger!!) – That site was quite a hoot, I wish I got a picture of it!
My run was not speedy by any means… but I got out there and ran/WALKED 2.5 miles.
When we got home, I busted out my strength circuit for the day while Tristen rode his bike around, under, and at times ON me!
(Bar) Push-Ups | 12 – 17 – 13 – 13 – 17 |
Squats | 19 – 24 – 19 – 19 – 27 |
(Static) Lunges | 20 – 20 – 20 – 20 – 20 |
(Stability Ball) Sit-Ups | 21 – 21 – 27 – 27 – 30 |
Faith: I am still chewing on the message that I need to remember to treat my job as a mom as such – a job…. but to also embrace, love, and ENJOY my job of being a mom.
The verse that I have been chewing on today is, “Run and not grow weary” Isaiah 40:29-31, which is really helping me remember my focus – to keep pressing on towards my ultimate goal (love God, love my family) and to be a good example for my children and those who I meet. I must continue running… and not grow weary.
