What are some of your traditions for Thanksgiving?
One thing our family does around this time of year is participate in Operation Christmas Child led by Samaritan’s Purse.
This week Samaritan’s Purse is having their national pick up for all the shoe boxes being packed for a special child.
If you have not participated in this before, it is so much fun and such a blessing to our family. Many children are facing horrible devastation, poverty, famine, war, loss of family, and this is a little tangible expression to show God’s love and that they have a Father who cares!
C and I really enjoyed doing this together this year! We go and just have a blast picking out what we think the little boy may want and would love to have. I am sure it is pure delight to see the faces of the sweet children getting their boxes, but it is so much joy on our end to think about a little boy, pray for him, and think of ways to bless him.
Here is a little video on what it entails that we watch, and here is a fun sheet to color and fill out to include in the box.
It is still not too late if you want to experience this blessing!
This video is very powerful from a girl who received a box in Bosnia.
Now, tell me what you are doing for Thanksgiving. What is your favorite tradition or food to eat this time of year???
