Hi, I am Rachel, and I am thrilled that you stopped by my corner of the blog-o-sphere. Need photographic evidence of how happy I am about it? Okay, you asked for it:
Running Rachel is quite simply: One mom who is running through life one day at a time. You may have already met me though Twitter (@RunningRachel) or on facebook, where I spend time chatting about my daily adventures in parenting, finding time for fitness, and growing in my faith.
You will find that my focus on Running Rachel is simply one mom’s journey trying to balance family, faith, fitness, sometimes food and always fun! I am a mom to three active boys and teach 2nd grade… I am not an expert, just simply an over worked, over tired Mom trying to make a positive impact in the lives of those I meet.
I spend most of my days chasing my three super heroes around town… seeking our next big adventure. As a mom, every day is a learning experience. My hope is that each day has laughter, joy and good memories.
I am married to my college sweetheart and we have three little boys (as you can see in the photos above). He is my best friend and my perfect life mate – he basically puts up with all my running, training plans, and adventure races! We like to laugh and enjoy the outdoors together.
We currently reside just near Kansas City and LOVE exploring all the great sights, trails, and outdoor exploration this area provides!
As a family, we love spending quality time together outdoors. Our boys were born in late 2005, 2008, and 2009. Having them close in age makes for wild adventures in parenting and in life. These boys have a lot of excess energy… and exercising as a family is a great way to burn energy as well as spend time together. We enjoy hiking, biking, camping, swimming and basically anything that helps us get our wiggles out!
It is no secret that my fitness love is running. I love LOVE to run! Running is my exercise soul-mate. I have always been a runner (think back to elementary/junior high cross country). I have never loved racing, but know that racing helps keep me motivated with my fitness journey: challenging me to do my best.
I am also a big kid at heart, and like my kids I am always up for a fun fitness challenge. You can find me doing handstands around town as well as toe touches on the river trail. Fitness should be fun, and I love making it fun!
The best ways to connect with me are through the comments on my blog posts. You can reach me by email at runningrachel {at} hotmail {dot} com or follow along with me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, & Instagram.
Follow and join me, as I run through life (faith, family, fitness and fun) one day at a time. Thanks for stopping by!
Rachel
