One of the things that I do with my students when conferring with their writing is I share two stars and a wish: two things I think they are doing great doing already and one thing I wish they would work on to improve their writing.
Using this philosophy with my fitness and weight loss goals works for me. Not only because I am a huge Polar Global fan and love keeping track of my heart rate… but because it focuses on the positive as well as sharing what I would like to work on.
Two Stars
-
I have weighed and measured myself. I was not happy with the results (not shocked mind you… I am aware of how my clothes have been fitting). I recorded my numbers and have an accurate starting point.
-
I have set up a free fitness program/plan on polar flow. I inputted my information for my polar balance scale to help me with my daily activity goal. I have a goal of losing 10 lbs in 8 weeks. I am working on meeting small but manageable goals. I will add a new goal after I meet this first goal.
My fitness program I set up on polar flow is a half marathon plan. I do not necessarily have a particular race in mind… but by March I should be ready to sign up and run one again.
One Wish
-
My wish is to stay committed and be consistent with the plan in order to reach my goal(s ). I will not only be making sure I meet my daily activity goal set by polar… but also will be recording my nutrition each day. I am going to try to follow the 21 Day Fix food portion containers for the duration of my first goal (8 weeks). Beyond that I have signed up to try Weight Watchers at Work with some colleagues (I haven’t done WW since college, so I am hopeful that with age and the accountability I will be successful).
If you are on twitter, myfitnesspal or even polar flow… I would love to have your help to keep me committed and be my accountability partner. Together we are better… and we can do this!
