I am still adjusting to my new normal… and my newly acquired ‘non-athleticism’.
Where my long run on the weekend is a 3 mile run/WALK.
Not injured. Just busy.
Between work and my boys busy sports schedules… time for fitness and running (long) is a challenge.
I miss the “old me” where I could devote hours a day to running/hanging out at the gym. Unfortunately, as with all things, I am embracing a new season of life.
This season of life is busy… and I will adjust. I just need to accept that (for now) a solo long run of 3-5 miles is an accomplishment.
Today I celebrate the small things. The simple success of getting out there and doing it. Even when there were other things on the ‘to do list’ that were calling my name.
Today I ran.
Today I walked.
Today I got out there.
Today I made one positive change.

It’s definitely hard when our schedules change and prevent us from doing the things that used to bring us joy. I felt that when I had my daughter and also over the past two years as my work volume has increased. But I’m glad you have other areas to bring you joy and satisfaction. 3-5 miles is definitely an accomplishment and someday you’ll be back to longer distances or whatever direction you decide to take! Hugs!
