With summer in full swing and the boys home and memory making in action… I have little time to sit behind the computer to share with you our daily adventures. I thought I would share with you a few updates on our life as well as some fun products I have received and wanted to share with you.
SnapChat
What I have been loving lately is SnapChat for the ease of sharing the spontaneous behind the scenes adventures our family enjoys. This is often uncensored and raw… and I love it.
I know that it is yet another social network to keep track of to check, update, and share… but for me it is super easy and stress free. I don’t worry about beautifully articulated captions or filtered images. I point, shoot, share. Granted, you might be bored with my snaps but it gives you a glimpse into what life looks like behind the scenes of “Running Rachel”.
Pop Sugar Must Have Box June 2016
As a Pop Sugar Select fitness blogger I was sent the June #MustHave box. I shared on snapchat (see why you need to follow me there) a few videos of what the box contained and how I was excited to use the contents. I have received a few boxes in the past and each month they send something different and unique. I like it because often there are items I have never heard of nor would have purchased on my own… but now love.
Invisalign
I have been an Invisalign customer (Yes, I paid for it with my own money) for almost a year now… I think October is when I first started. I should have been done by now… but a few months ago my dentist noticed that a few of my teeth were not tracking as quickly/well as she would have liked. I had to do a mid course correction and now I have 13 more trays (4 more months).
I am noticing my teeth are moving and getting straighter. I am excited to see the finished product! Perhaps that will be an early Christmas present for me! A pretty perfect smile.
Flat Iron Brush
I am a sucker for infomercials… and am often curious if they really work. While walking WalMart with my mom over the holiday weekend, I found the Flat Iron Brush. The brush that claims to straighten your hair easily while brushing. Well… I bought it. It was somewhere around $39, I think.
Does it work? Yes and no. It does straighten my hair… but my straightener does a better job. It doesn’t straighten my hair just by “brushing” you have to section your hair and move slowly similar to using a straight iron. I think I will use this when/if my hair needs a touch up of straightening… but I like the results of straightening my hair with an iron (when I style my hair that way).
Rock N Roll Virtual Run
As a Rock N Roll Race Ambassador, I am excited to share with you their super fun Virtual Race Series going on this summer! You can sign up for ONE or all THREE… and receive awesome bling-medals too!
I will be running all three making a band virtual races either solo on the trails or on the treadmill. I will be sharing my videos and photos on social (facebook, twitter, snapchat and instagram) or me dancing or rocking out as part of this super fun virtual race series! Join me!
Leap Frog – LeapStart
This past week I received a super fun-filled learning package from Leap Frog. I am a member of the LeapFrog Mom Squad, and I am often blessed with trying out new fun products from LeapFrog to share with you! My boys are quickly aging out of this amazing program, but I still wanted to share with you one of their newest products that will be on store shelves in a few weeks!
The LeapStart (MSRP $39.99) is the all-in-one interactive early learning systems for Preschool through 1st grade. It works with a library of activity books. The LeapStart interactive learning systems are designed to help build key skills and challenge kids to get ready for their next step in learning.
My boys enjoyed trying out a few of the older books (1st grade). My youngest is going into first grade this fall and he enjoyed playing with his leveled reader books. I did receive an extra book with loads of Pre-K and Kinder educational books. I am thinking of either using them as fast finishers in my 2nd grade classroom… or donating them to a local family. I can’t let it collect dust and go to waste. I think the kiddos would enjoy playing this!
