For years, like 17 years, I have been trying to get my husband to run with me. He is not a runner. Yet, the past few months he has been hinting that he would like to run the trails with me. He thinks that running the trails will be softer on his knees and joints. I agree. Plus running the trails together would be a great way to reconnect and do something we enjoy… together.
A few weeks ago, ASICS contacted me and said they wanted to gift someone special in my life an item from their line. I knew exactly what was needed and who I was to bless. My husband.
We have been together for almost 17 years. We are not the lovey-dovie romantic type. We are best friends. We laugh. We live life together. So don’t be upset at my lack of presentation (it is the thought that counts).
I ordered him some trail running shoes, in the color blue (his favorite color), with the hopes that we can enjoy running together. Of course, encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle is a huge push too.
To my surprise he loved them. He was happy that I was listening to his little dropped hints about wanting to run trails together, wanting to start running, and needing new ASICS shoes. Message received.
I have even caught him walking and now running on the treadmill! I better step up my running game, or else my non-running husband (unless the kids are being chased by a bear or running out in the street) will pass me up!
I did have to giggle that when I was taking photos of his new trail running shoes, he quickly pushed me out of the way and told me that it was Valentine’s Day after all and I needed to add a little love to my photo. Silly boy. My #RunTrueLove
Thanks to ASICS, I am excited to embark upon a new journey running with my husband … both through the journey and marathon of life as well as on the trails.

So cute! I can’t convince my husband to get off the couch (stubborn German).

My S.O. and I never did much running. I like to run, though. I wouldn’t mind a pair of those shoes.

A new pair of shoes definitely excites me and gets me in the running mood! Plus having a partner to run makes you push yourself even further!

We don’t run, unless you count the sprint for the last cup of coffee. I’ve heard good things about Asics, and I think it’s great you can run together.

Those are good looking shoes! And so cute about making the heart 🙂 My hubs actually enjoys running and hiking (hasn’t tried trail running yet but I think he’d like it) but he isn’t good at making time for himself to do it. In a weak moment several months ago he let me register him for the San Diego Rock n Roll half and he really wants to train–a few years ago he ran his first half on barely any training–after Christmas we got him some new running shoes and finally on Valentines Day he said–let’s go for a run. Hoping it can become something we do together occasionally!
