Our morning routine is bananas. Like B.A.N.A.N.A.S. Not only do I get myself and my three monkeys ready for school each day, but I also watch three other boys with the occasional added neighbor friend. There are some mornings when there are 8 children in my house before school waiting to catch the bus.
Bananas
I love this crazy bananas time before school. I am able to help them practice their spelling words, hear about the going-ons at school, as well as see their friendships grow and blossom.
We are a LeapFrog® family and one of the boys (all of them) favorite past times while waiting for the bus is to play with the LeapFrog Word Whammer.
This is a super fun game geared towards children ages 4+ and has a MSRP price of $19.99. This is a great way to bump up letter skills. My kindergartner has been rocking this game as he reads sight words and creates new words. There are 3 action-packed games and 5 learning levels that adapt as children play.
The Word Whammer™ gets kids jamming on their phonics skills as they spin, push and twist the handles to identify letters and build words.
Twist for letter sounds and blast to build words. Children will match upper and lower case letters by spinning the handle to bump a car into the correct answer. The learning adapts automatically as children play, keeping them challenged, motivated and having fun as they progress through the 5 different levels.
I love how the boys (and the occasional neighbor friend who is a girl) learn while they are playing… all while we wait for the bus. LeapFrog is great for sneaking in learning all while having fun! I love it!
I am a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador. I receive products, promotional items and educational material to use and share as I see fit. All opinions and stories reflect my actual experience.

I really need to get one of these for my son. We have the LeapPad explorer and he loves it, but he’s starting to get old enough to spell words so this would be awesome for him.

I love it when games are both fun and educational. Kids don’t mind learning when they are having fun!
