I join Janice, Fitness Cheerleader, each Monday for #MotivateMe Monday. Although this week I feel like I need an extra kick in the pants for motivation. I was gung ho and super motivated the past 3 weeks, but alas, I have hit a slump.
I do not know how you working moms fit everything in. Especially fitness. That one single me moment activity seems to be what is pushed aside.
Last week was an amazing week. A super busy week. I subbed three times, had an interview at a neighboring school district, and was busy with some great blogging opportunities which I shared. Busy. Good busy.
Fitting in fitness was my struggle. At the end of the day I was tired. Or worse, I felt guilty for busting out a 30 minute strength session in the garage when the boys were home… even though they paid no attention to me and were playing with their friends in our yard. Sigh. Life is always a juggle with balancing… and I didn’t balance fitness last week.
Last week what I did for fitness:
Monday:
Tuesday: on feet all afternoon (got my steps in!)
Wednesday: on feet all day (got my steps in!)
Thursday: 4 mile run + 20 minute upper body strength
Friday: on feet all afternoon (got my steps in!)
Saturday: Busy Family Day filled with sports
Sunday: 8 mile family bike ride
This week’s goal activities for fitness:
Monday: afternoon walk (I have a head cold) + strength
Tuesday: easy 3 mile run + Body Pump
Wednesday: I do NOT know how I would fit this in… but 8 mile run
Thursday: Body Pump
Friday: Body Pump
Saturday: 11 miles solo?
There you have it. I know I will stay active. Get my steps in… and will be working on my nutrition and hydration. Fitting in those runs is the struggle (no gym membership or treadmill here). I love this stage in our life and our busy… it is our new normal. I will adjust and figure things out. For now, I am in the experimentation stage.

An 8-mile family bike ride sounds awesome! Bike rides are my favorite, actually. It’s just me but if I’m looking for a quick and easy meal, I turn to my slow cooker 🙂

Unfortunately for this working mom, 6 am is the only time I have to run. I feel guilty when I sneak in a strength session while the kids are playing, but like you said, they don’t even notice if I’m folding laundry or working out. There are some great family fitness youtube videos that your could do together, or perhaps play Just Dance? I hope you had a great week!

Hope you got in all your miles this week and kicked the head cold! I had one last week too and think I am finally getting rid of it.
