Our family headed south to Table Rock Lake (just south of Branson near the Arkansas border) to spend a few quality days making memories, resting, laughing and enjoying quality time together. We enjoyed gorgeous weather full of sunshine and warm temperatures. We spent the majority of our time outdoors at the pool or on the boat at the lake.
The pool was a gorgeous infinity pool that overlooked the lake. All the kids had a great time jumping, splashing, and showing off their skills to their nana and papaw. I enjoyed getting a few shades darker on my summer tan while watching my boys swim.
Most of our fun memories and adventure taking happened on the lake. The water was warm. The air was warm. The kids (and adults) were full of adventure for lots of tubing fun!
The boy cousins had a great time playing king of the mountain on the tube when we were anchored in the cove. Basically they all jumped on the tube and wrestled by pushing each other off. Yes, there were tears. Yes, there were some punches thrown in. boys. There was lots of laughing and having fun.
After a while the boys (my niece stayed at the house with her mom, my sister, the baby, and Nana) grew hungry from all their rough housing. It was time for a snack. Thank goodness I grabbed some Jif To Go Dippers when shopping with the boys for our vacation.
These to go dippers were a huge hit for the crew of hungry boys (and Papaw). It was a perfectly portioned pretzel and peanut butter snack.
My dad, the captain of our boat, enjoyed the snack on our boating vacation. He even said “Are you going to take a picture of me eating this snack for your blog?” Ha! I think he could totally make a regular appearance with my blog, don’t ya think!? He has the pose down!
I grabbed a container for myself and enjoyed the salty/sweet combination of this snack. I also liked that there was minimal mess for clean up afterwards (for little boys eating snacks on a boat).
After the boys (and Papaw’s) tummy was filled with a snack, we were headed back out for more tubing fun. The big boys could NOT get enough of the boat and tubing fun. That is all they wanted to do.
Even the big boys had their turn on the tube (Uncle B is showing the boys how to ride the tube as Papaw begins doing figure eights in attempt to make him airborne by throwing him off). My husband rode too, although my dad was nice to him and didn’t make him wipe out.
Shortly after, my three boys decided that they were going to go all together. OH my heart… on a tube… behind a boat going 20mph. It was sweet and a little heart stopping at times. They had a pact that if one fell off they all fell off.
They loved it. They rode again, and again, and again, and AGAIN! We pretty much had to tell them that they needed to give their arms a break and let someone else have a chance to ride.
B-man (my nephew) was completely content hanging out on the boat making a silly hat out of the Jif To Go Dippers box. Silly boy. He had enough tubing for one day, but was completely content laughing as his boy cousins wiped out on the tube.
I decided to have a go on the tube. It had been years since I have tubed (I got my fair share of being thrown off and catching major air when I was younger with my dad, Papaw, at the wheel of our boat). For my boys sake, and giggles (and memories), I hopped on the tube and enjoyed the ride. Thankfully my dad was pretty nice to me and didn’t drive too crazy.
We had a great few days spending time with family, giggling and making memories. My boys are already talking about the next time (like tomorrow they demand) we will go on the boat to tube and swim and drive super fast.
I am thankful my boys had a great time. I am also thankful for the time to reconnect and enjoy time with my sun-kissed husband. We had a great time and look forward to making more memories with family now that we are back in Missouri.

We love to visit the grandparents because they have a boat on the lake. We didn’t make it there this summer, but next year for sure! Looks like you guys had a great time.

All those boys! I think you deserve two Jif’s! You must need the protein after keeping up with them at the lake.
