A big thanks to Farmbox Direct for blessing my family with a box of organic produce.
As a busy mom, grocery shopping with the monkeys is the bane of my existence. There are days when I would much rather touch my eyeball with hot sauce than attempt grocery shopping with my children. I love them. I enjoy being with them. I do not enjoy shopping with them. Keeping it honest, as most moms can relate.
I have tried a few organic home delivery services in the past. We really liked and enjoyed having organic produce be delivered to my door each week (bi week or month depending on plan).
When we moved to Kansas City from Sacramento, we were bummed to find that there wasn’t a service that provided organic produce. Until recently!!
Farmbox Direct now offers free delivery to the Kansas City area and more!
We received our box last week and were eager to dive in and check out the goodies provided in the box. The box arrived via FedEx in a PeriShip box. The biggest tip I can share with this is to make sure you track your box so that you are home when it arrives. You don’t want to open up a box of produce that has been sitting in the heat or rain for a few days (or all day). No bueno.
My Farmbox Direct was packaged well with ice packs along the perimeter of the box. There was a yummy recipe card on the top for spinach dip. Yum.
They did a great job making sure individual items were wrapped to make sure they wouldn’t bruise or get yucky during transport.
The contents of our yummy Farmbox direct goodies: lots of organic produce!!
In true Precious P fashion, he wanted to bust in to the fresh fruit as quickly as possible. Hello (and goodbye) organic nectarine. It was ripe and juicy and devoured in a matter of seconds. I think he liked it.
Farmbox Direct offers a customizable CSA delivery service making the transition to a healthy lifestyle easy. A box of fresh natural or organic produce, locally grown by small farmers, delivered to your doorstep on a weekly or biweekly basis at the click of a button! Farmbox offers an array of boxes in different sizes; their newest offerings include juicing boxes.

What a gorgeous selection of veggies and other goodies. I’ve been curious about Farmbox for sometime and just might give them a try when school starts up again.

A friend of mine was just telling me about how much organic food she has delivered. She even gets milk dropped off at her doorstep in a cooler bag. I would love to subscribe to a service like this.

I LOVED our CSA in California.
Somehow I never restarted here in Austin.
Must restart.

I wish we had more of a selection of organic produce to choose from. I really should check and see if there’s a CSA option close to me.

Wow, it looks great and I am going to head to the site to learn more, but my question for you is were you able to use everything that arrived before it went bad? I generally have to shop at the market weekly so I can meal plan.
