Oh the many adventures of fitting in fitness, fitting in summer fun family activities, and living life. We are on summer break and are excited to go, do, explore and make many memories in our new town/state. Fitting in fitness with the boys is going to take some getting used to (all over again). I am excited to bike, hike, and explore with the boys!
My fitness goal(s ) for the summer are to remain active, make strength training part of my weekly routine, build my aerobic endurance/base, and focus on nutrition. Seems like a lot… yes… but making a plan helps me get closer to my goal each week.
Last week I did what I could with the rain, boys school activities, and traveling to see family for the long weekend. I could have worked out while visiting my parents… but I didn’t. I am still loving the Daily Burn #HotLikeBlackFire workout by Bob Harper. I will be sharing my full review tomorrow.
My fitness last week (what I did):
Monday: DB BF: Power 10 + walk
Tuesday: DB BF: Strategic Endurance
Wednesday: DB BF: Body Weight Tabata
Thursday: last day of school activities
Friday: family day – 1 mile easy walk
Saturday: family day – rest
Sunday: family day – 1 mile easy walk
My fitness plan this week:
Monday: 5.5 mile solo trail run
Tuesday: DB BF: ABC1 + easy walk
Wednesday: DB BF: Power 10 + easy walk/run
Thursday: DB BF: Body Weight Tabata + walk/run
Friday: DB BF: Sweet 16 + bike ride
Saturday: DB BF: Weighted Tabata + solo run
Sunday: family day – rest – 15 minute mobility
I keep sharing that I am focusing on nutrition… because that is the area where I struggle the most. I am meal planning, but not sharing on here (because I am not completely finished. Ha!) I am going to try to incorporate the nutrition program that the Daily Burn website recommends. So… if I am successful at following through with that… I’ll let you know how it goes!
Have a great, healthy, happy and active week! Join us for #MotivateME Monday… where Janice and I encourage and motivate YOU and others to stay accountable with your fitness goals.

Goals? Humm I’ve go to figure out how to work off that wonderful piece of pie along with all the other goodies I had over the long weekend! I plan to do something everyday this week, but weather already got in the way of my walk this morning and with a 100% chance of rain this afternoon my run with the girls isn’t looking too good! 🙁 Boo!

I don’t set weekly goals, actually even monthly goals, but I do check in at the end of the month on the goals I set for the year! I’ll be posting on Sunday/Monday about that!

Sounds like a great plan to me!
I was hoping to finish out the months strong with my runs, but I hurt myself, so I’m on hiatus for a few days. 🙁

Nutrition is where I’m slacking as well. Like moreso than usual. I really need to get back into gear especially as marathon training is right around the corner!
Sam @ PancakeWarriors says
I love that you are taking steps and not trying to do everything at once. Nutrition is often my downfall as well! Best of luck – I know if I was home all day I’d be eating the whole house!
