Happy Motivation Monday… and boy do I need a lot of motivation this week. The cold, wind and snow has arrived in Kansas City and I am not fully ready or adjusted. Mama is cold! I need to run… but the motivation to go out in crazy cold and windy conditions leaves me sitting inside the house… cranky. Just being honest.
Good thing these three boys are full of energy and to the moon excited about their first snow. They made their first real snow man, threw their first snow ball, and are learning quickly (thanks to our Daisy dog) to stay away from yellow and brown snow. Oh the many adventures our family has in store for us.
The past two weeks of fitness have been hit and miss. I am slowly getting to know my neighborhood and running routes. I am also slowly accumulating my cold weather running gear… but still need to get more. It is cold out there!
Last Week’s Fitness Plan (What I did):
Monday:
Tuesday:
Wednesday: hilly 3.1 miles running
Thursday: hilly 6.5 miles run while pushing T in jogger
Friday:
Saturday:
Sunday: attempted outdoor run… 1.5 mile hilly power walk
This week, I am going to attempt to get out and run (while pushing T in the jogger… and bundling him up) as well as add daily strength exercises. I will be participating in the #LJFitChallenge put on by Lorna Jane and FitApproach. You can join in on the fun too and check out the facebook group to keep you accountable.
Have you ever wondered how our leading lady Lorna Jane Clarkson likes to Move Nourish and Believe? Well you don’t have to wonder anymore, and it’s all thanks to the Lorna Jane Fit Challenge. Join me and many others for the Lorna Jane Fit Challenge… 12 weeks to move, nourish and believe! Summer bodies are made in the winter… let’s get to work!
This Week’s Fitness Plan (what I plan to do):
Monday: chilly power walk + strength
Tuesday: 3 mile jog while pushing T in jogger + LJ strength
Wednesday: 8 miles attempted faster pace/tempo while pushing T in jogger + core
Thursday: strength
Friday: 3 mile jog while pushing T in jogger + LJ strength
Saturday: 13 miles while chasing boys on bikes
Sunday: active rest + unpacking truck
I am honestly not sure how the fitness plan will go this week. It is cold. Bitter cold. Temperatures are to be in the mid 20’s and it might snow again midweek. Oh boy… all the hills and this crazy cold weather will make me one tough mother runner by summer! That is my hope at least!
Good thing I love running and I value health and fitness as important… no more excuses. I will find a way to make it happen. I will succeed.
Are you struggling with your motivation? Join me and Janice for the weekly link up, #MotivateME Monday to help encourage, motivate and hold accountable others with their goals.

My daughter loves the snow too! Me, not so much. I do all my workouts outside, even in the warmer months. So the snow doesn’t get me down too much, other than it is cold!!
It sounds like you are settling into your new home, and have a great schedule set for this week. Did the Lorna Jane Fit Challenge kick off this week?
I will have to check it out!

Hi. Yes. The Lorna Jane Fit CHallenge started today. 😉

I have to be honest, around here if I don’t embrace the cold and just do it then I’m stuck indoors for a good 6 months. I have faith that you’ll find your groove and start to embrace the cold too, Cheers!!

Hiya. This is my first time linking up. Love the idea. I have been posting my Weekly Run Report every Monday for quite awhile so it is nice to join it with other like minded ladies.
For winter running, I’ve found a neoprene face mask to be a run saver. Stops wind and you can still breathe well.

Looks like you have a busy week planned. Looking forward to participating in the LJFitchallenge with you!

I am excited because I have been motivated at least 3 times a week to go out and walk. Helps when you have a buddy.

More power to you girl. I hate being cold (hence I live in FL) so I wouldn’t even step outside in those conditions! Wishing you much success.

I try to hit the gym when it is too cold to run outside.
Scott says
Sounds like you have the same weather as we do. A foot of snow followed by highs in the teens.

I’m doing good staying motivated for my one outdoor workout on Saturdays, because I have a good workout buddy. But, MAN! The 6:30am gym workouts all by myself are KILLING ME lately. It’s so hard to get out of a nice warm bed and into a freezing cold car. I really need to step it up…
