Happy Monday! I will be honest, I am in survival mode the past few days. Last week we were making our final goodbyes to friends and this week we are packing up everything and heading east. It is go time! After 5+ months of solo parenting, we are finally going to be making the move to Kansas City.
I am staying very active and focusing on nutrition during the chaos. Although I may not be following my Boston Marathon training plan perfectly the next few days, I will not be lazy.
Last week was filled with bittersweet goodbyes to sweet friends we have grown to love and call family here in Sacramento. We also decided to take an impromptu day trip to San Francisco to take a break from the boxes and packing.
Between the packing, bittersweet goodbyes, procrastination adventures and more, I did manage to get in some miles on my feet and strength training. Below is what I did do last week for fitness:
Last Week’s Fitness Plan (What I did):
Monday: PureForm PFT strength
Tuesday: family hike ~ 3+ miles
Wednesday: PureForm PFT strength + 5 mile interval treadmill run
Thursday: active rest (packing)
Friday: 6 mile bike ride with the boys
Saturday: active rest
Sunday: 10 solo miles + strength (packing)
We played hooky from church to get some packing and cleaning done for the week. Oh my what a lot of stuff we have and still need to do. I was able to sneak out and enjoy a solo run in the fog. My pace was in zone 2-3 and was strong and steady. I am learning to not compare myself with others, but to trust my own body and do my best.
This week’s fitness will be a total #wycwyc week. I don’t have any plans to run or do strength training. My strength will be lifting and moving boxes from the house to the truck. My cardio will be cleaning and chasing the boys out of the house. I will be moving my body… and my house. The focus for the week is to stay hydrated, stay positive, and to make sure I am properly fueling my body.
This Weeks ACTIVITY Plan:
Monday: Clean. Pack. Car appointments (fine tuning for the trip)
Tuesday: Clean. Pack. Pod Pick Up. Uhaul Pick Up.
Wednesday: Clean. Pack. Final Day!
Thursday: Drive out EARLY to head east! Arrive in Salt Lake City, Utah (Day 1 complete)
Friday: Arrive somewhere in Nebraska (Day 2 complete)
Saturday: Arrive in Kansas City, begin unpacking!
Sunday: Unpack. Clean. Arrange new home.
Feel free to join Janice and I for the #MotivateME Monday link up. This is a place where we can encourage and help motivate each other by sharing our weekly fitness success and struggles. Have a productive and happy week!
I will probably not be updating the blog much this week, but will be sharing our adventures through photos via instagram, twitter and facebook. It is just easier, honestly. Feel free to follow our journey as we travel from Sacramento to Kansas City the end of this week!

I’m so happy for you that the months of stress and uncertainty are coming to a close. Personally I’m also stokked that your moving close enough for us to possibly find races within a 1/2 day of driving for us to do together 🙂 I hope you have a safe trip!

THINKING ABOUT YOU……

Hi friend. Thank you. SLOWLY getting settled. Internet hooked up yesterday. Most of our belongings on a truck somewhere between California and here… so there is the adventure of making do without and getting creative at times. 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing your emotions and experience! I’m going through something similar with my kids and our two dogs, so it’s good to know that there are others like me out there!
