Happy Monday Ya’ll! Another week means another week for me to share with you my weekly fitness and meal plan. I am participating in many mini-holiday accountability and motivational challenges over the next few weeks leading to the New Year. I thrive on accountability and motivation, which is why I love sharing my weekly goal plan with you… because it helps me stay accountable.
Last week was a bit of an off week for me. Earlier in the week I had felt a dry tickle in my throat, which then dropped to my chest mid week. Nothing like sounding like a man and wheezing like you are breathing through a straw while just sitting. I managed to move and stay active while taking care of the boys… but my intensity level was super low. I didn’t want to push myself too hard and risk prolonging the cold.
As I type, I am feeling much better… I still have the residual juicy (productive) cough… but everything else seems to be working correctly. Ha! I am hoping to kick up the training plan a notch this week. My husband is home… so that means I need to get creative with my workouts and balancing life, fun, and family.
As with all things in life, learning the art of balance is key. This week my main goal is to find balance with my workouts, my nutrition, my alone (spiritual) time, and my family FUN time. Happy #MotivateMe Monday! Please join Janice and me as we encourage and motivate each other… and YOU this week!
Last Week’s Fitness Plan (What I did):
Monday: Fab5 Boot camp with friends
Tuesday: rest
Wednesday: rest
Thursday: Zumba with friends
Friday: Yoga
Saturday: 4 easy paced solo miles
Sunday: family day (2 mile hike & play)
This Week’s Fitness Plan (What I plan to do):
Monday: Fab5 Boot camp with friends + afternoon easy 3 mile run
Tuesday: 5 mile run while chasing boys on bikes
Wednesday: Strength (Max Lift) Workout with friends
Thursday: 5K Turkey Trot as a family
Friday: Trail run with friends (5+)
Saturday: active family day
Sunday: run or bike ride with the boys
My meal plan this week is pretty simple. My breakfast, snacks, and lunch options are pretty similar to what they were last week (with the addition of possibly eating left overs). Here is my weekly dinner menu plan:
Monday: Black Bean Pumpkin Chili
Tuesday: Turkey Taco Night
Wednesday: Sloppy Joe & sweet potato fries
Thursday: Thanksgiving meal
Friday: Family tradition Pizza Night
Saturday: Black Bean Burgers & Fixin’s
We don’t have any family local to us, so our holiday plans are really simple and will include just the 5 of us. Honestly, we are really considering having our Thanksgiving dinner at Black Bear Diner to culminate our California living experience. When my husband and I first moved to California, we had our first Thanksgiving (in California) at the BBD because my OB said I was too pregnant to travel. So… we had our first Thanksgiving dinner there… and thought it would be fitting to have our last Thanksgiving dinner at the same restaurant. Silly, yes. But that is our plan.
Funny how the addition of one big family member can throw the routine and schedule off. We are excited and happy to have Daddy home this week… and our main goal is to spend as much quality time together as possible. We are thankful for the time we have together.
Come and link up this week… share with us how YOU are staying active this week with #MotivateME Monday!

Good job on your nice paced 4 miles. I love having family around and this time of year is so important. We are having dinner at my house with a few family members. I pick up the turkey tomorrow (don’t judge) – I am not cooking anything. LOL.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Awwwww I think the BBD sounds like the perfect Thanksgiving dinner. I hope you have a fantastic week with hubby home!

Hope you have a fun family Thanksgiving! I am suffering still from a cold I caught a couple of weeks ago and laying low on the workout front.

Love the quote and your menu sounds delicious. I’ve been craving chili!

I don’t think that tradition is silly at all. We would do the same thing. There is something cathartic about coming full circle.

Yay for daddy being home!
I need to join this link up next Monday. I’m just really struggling with even caring that I’m not motivated right now. Ugh.
I like your dinner idea. I would be totally down with something like that.

It sounds like you’re going to have a pretty busy week! 🙂

I don’t meal plan, but I think I would do so much better in keeping my calories down if I did. We eat out a little more than we should, but we are always on the go. I need to just make myself meal plan. And… I love that quote. It is so true and a message I hope my son keeps with him.

It’s gonna be a simple, scaled back Thanksgiving here but I will make a turkey and cranberries. In fact, I should be making the cranberries now.

Your meal plan sounds absolutely amazing! I’ve never had black bean burgers before but I bet they’re yummy!

Now I just need you to come over and cook it all for me. Everything sounds so yummy!
