Hi friends. Life lately has been a whirlwind of super fun activities, blessings, busy activities and more. Solo parenting, homeschooling, training for a spring marathon, and learning the art of balance is the name of the game lately. I thought it would be fun to share with you another life lately post of what my today looked like.
I am loving my ErinCondren LifePlanner to keep me organized and on task. I call my planner my brain, and I am pretty sure I would be lost without it. I am also loving two books I am reading: Living a Life of Balance and The Best Yes.
This morning I had a phone conference call with Stonyfield, who is the official yogurt sponsor of the Boston Marathon. They asked me, along with seven other amazing mother runners, to participate in the 2015 Boston Marathon as members of Team Stonyfield!
I am blessed. I am shocked. I am honored. I am squealing with delight as this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. One that I will not take for granted or take lightly. I know that many have trained YEARS for this opportunity, and I am fully aware of how blessed I am for this chance to run among the worlds elite runners.
I am excited to resume marathon training and share with you my many adventures as I juggle training, homeschooling, life, moving cross country, healthy eating with Stonyfield, and many more fun adventures over the coming months.
After my conference call, it was time to resume our lessons for the day. Homeschooling my monkeys isn’t always easy (in fact it rarely is easy). Thank goodness for those silver lining days when God gives you a glimmer of hope… today was one of those days. All the tears and frustrated moments all melt away when my precious P sits and reads to me. Hallelujah he is reading… and liking it! Yay!
After our lessons were finished for the day, the monkeys and I headed to the gym. Mommy needed to run and wanted to run on the trail… but the boys wanted to play with their friends. Thankful for the option to run on the treadmill, I ran a solid 3.5 comfortably easy miles.
It is amazing what a mental shift can do for my physical capabilities. I have figured out what my triggers are with my fitness goals… and identifying those triggers has helped me push on with my goals. Your brain is a powerful thing!
After the gym, all sweaty and stinky, I took the boys on a date to Chevys. It is Taco Tuesday (this night has stuck for us since watching The Lego Movie), and kids eat free! Yay!
After dinner we returned home for free play… and planks. The boys joined me with my planks and 21 Day Fix Upper Fix workout. It is quite comical when they really get in to the fitness moves and routine.
After our goofy upper body and core workout, it was time to settle down for the night. The boys have been all about Legos lately and using their imagination and creativity. It is so fun to watch and see what they come up with!
I played and created a few vehicles with them before reading a chapter from our night time book. We are currently reading a chapter a night before bed. This week we just started reading Prince Caspian… and the boys have been enjoying it. I am amazed how quiet they are while listening and playing Legos. I think I found my sweet spot for teaching other school lessons too!
Life lately has been busy, full of blessings, always an adventure, and there is always a lesson thrown in the mix. I am trying to be still and learn to find my best yes while juggling all that life has thrown my way. For now, I take things one step at a time. One mile at a time. One lego piece at a time… until I can see the big picture. I am thankful for a Big God who is in charge of all those details for me… who sees the big picture.

The Boston Marathon sounds like an amazing experience! I am really getting ideas from this post for my middle son, who is 5 – we were arguing about books last night and what to read. I wonder if he’d like to have me read the Narnia books to him! And your kids are so cute planking with you!
