This is my final recap of my super fun ASICS LA Marathon weekend as a 2014 ASICS LA Marathon Blogger Challenge Team. I met some amazing running blogger new to me friends. I chatted with, learned from, and got to known some amazing elite athletes.
I was reminded once again that I love the running community and I love running… perhaps the full marathon being my favorite distance! I became a 2x marathoner!
On Sunday night the team enjoyed a celebratory dinner at BOA in Santa Monica. I positioned myself right next to Deena Kastor on one side, and also enjoyed sharing a table with Anne, Noelle, Brian, Monica, Michelle Lovitt, Alysia Montano and her husband. I loved how easy the conversation was all evening.
It was such an amazing opportunity and moment. I was in shock, especially when Michelle said that I looked familiar and that she followed me on twitter. Complete shock and star struck at the same time! Awesome.
I also got a chance to sit and get to know Monica from Run Eat Repeat better during dinner. She is hilarious and I loved her stories.
The dinner was lighthearted, fun, and full of positive energy. Everyone was coming off their high from the race earlier that morning and we let our hair down for a fun and relaxing dinner.
Dinner started with a delicious wedge salad.
I chose a petite filet minion for the main course.
Followed by a delicious dessert platter.
The encore was cotton candy served complete with sparklers! Super fun!
I think Anne was ready to devour the whole pile of cotton candy!
After dinner we busted out the cameras, we are bloggers you know, and took a million and one photos.
Louis and Alysia Montano, Michelle, Deena and Andrew Kastor pose for the cameras.
I loved meeting and getting to know Anne. She is so much fun and we both completed our second full marathon that weekend.
A fun, albeit blurry, group shot of our blogger team and amazing staff (Melinda, Noelle and Whitney)… with a little Deena Kastor thrown in the mix for fun. Great group. Great friends. Great time!
The last photo I have from the night is me and a few of the girls in the hotel lobby before we parted ways… until we see each other again at another race event in the future. Me, Beth, Monica, Anne.
It was a great way to finish the amazing weekend we all shared. Good food. Good drinks. Lots of laughs. Good times.

The last time I ever ate cotton candy, I CHOKED!!! I was at a carnival and couldn’t breath. It was scary as all heck! It’s so delicious but now I am traumatized! LOL!
Rachel says
Oh my goodness! That would totally traumatize me too! I think the last time I had cotton candy was either at a carnival or at Six Flags as a kid… but it wasn’t something I was a huge fan of or had often. 🙂
