I am still trying to kick this chest cold. I will be honest that this coughing (mostly at night) is wearing me out and gives me little energy during the day. However, I am doing my best to rest, hydrate and kick this so I can resume full-on marathon training.
I started the morning with a nice and easy 5.5 mile treadmill run at the gym. I felt great, strong, and in control. However, I did find that my energy wasn’t there and even though it was an easy run it wasn’t as easy as it should have been.
After my run I busted out a set of 5×5 heavy weighted back squats with a friend. Surprisingly this was the easiest thing for me today. I ended up squatting 120lbs + bar and could have added more weight. I am training to get my legs strong for the downhill marathon in March, LA Marathon.
The rest of the day was entertaining, refereeing, and juggling the boys needs, fights, and food requests. You know a typical day in the life of a mom of three little boys.
When the boys went to bed, The Man and I pressed play to start Day 2 of p90x3. Last night was AgilityX. Think back to when you were in youth sports and you warmed up with plyometrics… that is basically what the 30 minute workout was like. It was a lot of fun.
Again, there was a lot of giggling, grunting, and confused moments as we did this workout. We were a hot and sweaty mess. It was a lot of fun to workout together. We really need to organize the garage so we can workout in there vs our living room. But… for the time being our living room will work.
I love running and I am enjoying adding the cross training of p90x3 with my training plan. Plus working out with this handsome dude is also a perk.

I do kickboxing and yoga for cross training. 🙂 I hear a lot of good things about P90X. 🙂

Way to go! Plyometrics are a fantastic way to build speed. I hope your lingering cough clears up soon!
