The end of the year is a time of reflection and reevaluating. We reflect upon the previous year and look forward to the next. More often than not, we reflect upon the previous year and we decide that something needs to change. Whether that change is spiritual, fitness, health, family or finances. Change is often a big goal for many, myself included.
If we are not careful, comfort will kill us. The truth is many of us are not living the life God created us for because we are hiding behind comfort. We need to get uncomfortable in order for real change to happen.
We need to challenge ourselves to experience the joy and passion of feeling uncomfortable with something new. When we want to grow, we need to get uncomfortable. We need to adjust the junk and make the change. Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.
Change is hard. Change often times hurts. Change is uncomfortable.
What will you CHANGE this year that makes you uncomfortable? Will this discomfort of change bring you closer to your goal?
My goal for this year is to get uncomfortable. I want to challenge myself in many areas of my life: family, fitness, finances, faith and more! I want change… and I am willing to get uncomfortable to see the change happen. I will share my 2014 goals next week… right now I am fine tuning them before I share.

Yes!! I’m really looking forward to a year of uncomfortableness (is that even a word?). I’ll be running longer & harder than ever before, at times that I’m normally sleeping to help me see the changes I want. I’m looking forward to reading about all of your goals & following your journey!

Totally agree! Comfort keeps us in ruts, missing out on so much. I too am planning my goals for the year and am ready for some changes!

Is it bad to admit that I don’t always like change. I’m good with the change that is inevitable – growing older, learning new things. But drastic change, like a new job, a big move or something like that is scary and not necessarily good.
Happy New Year!!!

Being uncomfortable is not fun but I have found it results in my greatest benefitis and blessings in the end. It’s a good phrase to remember — thanks for hte reminder!

2013 I challenged myself to be more uncomfortable. In some sense, I succeeded but I’m not done yet. I’ve got more uncomfortable in my future! 😉

I’m hoping to try new things which probably means that I will get uncomfortable…with good outcomes of course 😉

My changes have little to do with fitness, I am happy with my body. My change has more to do with being a better person – more patience and more kindness. I work at it a little everyday.

Yes I want change! So much so I’m starting the year with #MakeAChange challenge. Actually, I like change. When I decided to train for my first 50 mile race I also decided I like being uncomfortable Haha!
Cheers to an uncomfortable new year!

I love living outside my comfort zone. There is no better way to live life, in my opinion. How can we see how great we can be by doing the same ‘ol same ‘ol every day?

Lots of goals in 2014! Mostly running related – run faster, smarter – but also personal (save some $$$) and renew friendships etc etc. Happy New Year & all the best in 2014.

I like the idea of change, but being uncomfortable is definitely something I need to work harder on. Here’s to mutual discomfort for all! haha that sounds funny.
Best of luck on your goals. Happy New Year!
