Happy handstand Friday! This week has been cray-zee busy. One of those weeks where our days have been filled with great fun all.day.long kind of weeks. So this morning, when I realized it was Friday and I had not yet thought of or done my handstand I kind of freaked out. Good thing I have children who are always up for an adventure and love handstand Friday!
We ventured out to our local Chick-Filet for some free chicken. We dressed up as cows (as quickly and best we could do). I took the opportunity to do a handstand at the door to the restaurant dressed in my ‘cow costume’. Too bad you can’t really see my spots or my ears… but I was a cow upside down.
The boys had fun dressing up and mooing. They weren’t exactly sure why they had to dress up to each chicken, but they were happy to be eating there for a fun (big) afternoon snack.
Seeing that the dinner crowd was coming in, we left and headed to the library. I was SUPER tempted to bust out a handstand in the middle of the children’s reading center… but the little old library ladies were not in a good mood… so I just sat and relaxed for a bit.
Sensing that our quiet time was ending, we loaded up and headed to a nearby park to get the wiggles out. Something about the late afternoon hours and extreme wiggles… but parks have been my best friend.
The boys played around, jumping, climbing, sliding and running. I took it as a prime opportunity to do handstands at the park. I worked my lower body today for my workout… so why not work my upper body with handstands.
Our crazy busy week… ended with a crazy busy day. I sit here typing as the boys happily read their library books to Daddy (who just came home from being away on a business trip) while dinner is cooking in the oven.
We make time for what is important to us. That much is true. And apparently handstand Friday is important to me… because I had to make a point to do my handstands and share with YOU this afternoon!
