Love at First Shake #nuttzolove

I am no foodie.  Well, scratch that. I love food.  Although, compared to many amazing fitness and foodie bloggers out there… I just like to eat good (and bad) food.  I decided to play along this week to share with you one of my meals that I enjoyed today.  Like everything in my life, I have days where I eat really well… and other days where I eat terribly.  Today was mixed with both good and bad.  Again, working on the balance with food!

The boys and I were out and about all morning.  When we arrived home mid afternoon, we all were hitting our afternoon crash.  We all wanted something sweet, fulfilling and tasty.  I decided to make the boys and me a peanut butter – chocolate shake.

Vitamix + NuttZo + Vega + Banana = YUM

I have been enjoying playing around with my Vitamix the past few weeks… creating healthy smoothies, soups, blends and more!  I am loving the ease of use, functionality, and ease of clean up!  Making healthy snacks, shakes and smoothies when short on time has been a time saver!!

I was sent a jar of NuttZo to review and have been using and experimenting with NuttZo the past few days.  My family loves peanut butter!  We go through mass amounts each week.  I really liked that NuttZo is 100% organic, contains no added sugar, full of healthy fats and supports a charity helping nutrient deficient children.

I have been using NuttZo in my boys sandwiches, toast, and smoothies… and they are non the wiser! Which is fantastic for me… because my middle son is uber picky about his peanut butter.

Chocolate – Peanut Butter – Banana Shake
Recipe type: Shake
Cuisine: Snack

Cook time:
Total time:

Serves: 1

  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 scoop Choc-a-lot Vega Team Smoothie
  • 2T NuttZo
  • ½ banana
  • 4 ice cubes

Instructions
  1. Add ingredients in the order above in your Vitamix blender.
  2. Blend on Low – Level 6 until desired consistency.
  3. Pour and enjoy!!

From experimenting with my Vitamix, Vega Team Choc-a-lot smoothie , Nuttzo and a banana…  the boys and I have found a tasty, fulfilling, and super healthy shake to enjoy as a snack.

Are you a fan of peanut butter or similar nut butter products?
Do you use nut butters with your smoothie and shake recipes?  If so, please share your yummy recipes!

Disclosure: I received a Vitamix and a jar of NuttZo for sole purpose of review.  No compensation was received.  All opinions are my own.

You know, I think we’ve been sorely lacking in our peanut butter intake :P Glad you like this one so much – I hate that so many have added sugar and a whole bunch of other junk!

I have not tried NutZo, but your shake looks pretty yummy. I think almond butter is my favorite nut butter.

We love peanut butter around our house. This sounds yummy. I hadn’t thought about a peanut butter smoothie. Maybe it will sooth my craving for a peanut butter milkshake!

Peanut butter & other nut butters are a recommended protein on my diet plan – so I think something like this might work for me, too!

I’m a protein shake fanatic and that looks like a great recipe. I’m going to have to look into the Nutzo.

We LOVE freshly ground peanut butter…. and go though a ton each week. I’ll have to see if Nuttzo is sold in my store!
