Spring has sprung in northern California. We have been enjoying blue skies, abundant sunshine and mild temperatures hovering in the upper 60s. This weather makes me happy. I get to soak up my sunshine, and the boys are encouraged to do most of their play outside.
My boys are noisy. They are full of energy. They see a challenge of a dirt hill and they jump on it! My boys are the prime example of the definition of a boy: a noise with dirt on it. My neighbors can all attest to this being true. They are noisy and messy and dirty. They are handsome and cute and funny. My boys are fun.
We have spent most of our week outside playing. We have been exploring new parks, trails and dirt bike ramps. The more things to climb, conquer, and get messy… the happier they are.
We have this monstrous dirt bike park near our house that the boys love. It is big, scary, messy, and full of dirt. We spent most of our afternoon tackling those jumps (basically just cruising over the hills). Check out these cute little boys tackling their mountains. No fear.
When we decided to call it a day and head home I had three very tired little boys. Three little boys with owies on them from their wipeouts. Three little boys with dirty faces, clothes, hands, and feet. Three little boys who were requesting to do it all again tomorrow.
One of the many things I love, and learn from, my boys is that they TRY things that scare them. When they get hurt they try it again. They dust themselves off and try again. They are determined to get it right, master the skill, or at least try to keep up with each other.
I need to learn that mindset during a hard run or strength session. Keep pushing through… even if I am hurt or am having a hard time keeping up. Do my best. Have fun. Keep going.
