One of the biggest struggles for me a as a woman and mother is how to find time for faith and fitness during my day. There always seems to be something bigger, larger and louder competing for my attention. Sadly, something always takes precedence and one of those very important to me balls gets dropped during the day.
I love reading (when I have time for it). I love reading books on how to live a healthier and more active lifestyle. Often times those books are faith based and even tips on how to lose weight. Bonus!
Sometimes we just need to believe in ourselves. We need to believe that we ARE able. Knowing that there is something inside of us that is greater than any obstacle. Greater than any challenge we may face. Greater than the number on the scale… or our negative self-talk. We must believe in our self.
I have been reading and recommend these two faith and fitness books. Both books give you the tools needed to start a new healthy and active lifestyle… while growing your faith. There is no one size book or plan that fits all, but you too might learn and find insight about yourself from these books. I did.
42 Days to Fit by The Marathon Mom – This ebook is a realistic diet and exercise that will help you change your life. She is not asking for huge changes… but merely small changes each week over the course of 42 days to help you reach your goals. She decided to have the challenge go over the course of 42 days… because it takes 21 days to establish a new habit. She shares that if you spent double the time on a healthy and active lifestyle… the new habit and lifestyle would stick! She includes recipes, inspiration, workouts, and honest insight from her experience as she went through this same program.
Witness to Fitness by Donna Richardson Joyner – I received this book to read, review and share. This 28 day program is designed to help you lose weight while you nourish both your body and your soul.
In Witness to Fitness, Donna Richardson Joyner brings together faith, food, and fitness in a way no one else has done before. She inspires the reader to follow her on a journey, strengthening mind, spirit, and body.
She shares inspirational stories from people who have had success following her program, as well as her own struggles and successes.
Her program will help you get the results you are destined for and create lasting change in your life.
Joyner’s plan is to inspire you to lose weight and feel and look great. The exercises can be followed by anyone at any fitness level.
Each day in Witness to Fitness, you are given: daily meal plans with recipes, daily workouts with photographs that clearly demonstrate the exercises and uplifting affirmations to keep you encouraged every step of the way.
Donna’s energy is contagious! Her philosophy is that you can have victory in your health by practicing faith, perseverance, and courage to achieve your goals. Witness to Fitness provides a unique wellness program that focuses on changing your mind-set, living in the spirit, and loving your body. Donna encourages us to strengthen our body and soul to live our best life ever.

I would LOVE to give this book to my mom! I gave her Donna’s workout program Body Gospel last year and this would be a great follow up to add to it, because she loves the program!!

Thanks so much for the quote! It’s exactly what I needed to read today as I sit on the couch sick with a cold. I’m supposed to run a half on Sunday and was just about to hand in the towel. You’ve inspired me to not give up hope. Thanks Rachel!

I’d love to check this book out – I know that you have to be healthy and full of energy to be able to witness to others and find a way to spread the Word. I would love to find new energy and ensure I make a way to be a better mom and a better Christian.
