One of my crossfit friends, Jen, encourages everyone she meets to participate in handstand Friday. I have played along a few weeks ago… but for 2013 I am going to try to remember to take a snap shot of me doing a handstand each Friday. For Fun.
This afternoon, the boys and I needed a change of scenery and some fresh air. We walked to the neighborhood park for some sunshine, exercise and play. I challenged my oldest to a handstand, with a bribe that I would take his photo. Challenge accepted. He then challenged me to do the same and took my picture. Challenge accepted.
I am looking forward to gaining strength, balance, and reducing wrist pain (when I do push-ups/handstands). Plus this is an added fun fitness Friday activity that I can challenge myself and my boys with each week!

I love it!! What a great way to do a fun self portrait over the year to journal your progress! I’m in, though as we discussed, I’m gonna have to figure out how to use the timer on my camera etc.

Ooh, I want in! Of course, I was one of those nerdy mcnerdy kids, so I’ve never done a handstand! I have visions of an attempt going terribly wrong and a very bad landing to follow. It’s on my list to try, though, and I definitely want to nail a handstand push up!
