Getting five faces to look at the camera and smile at the same time is a miracle. Three little personalities who do not want to sit still, put on a fake smile, or stare at a camera are just three challenges I face as I attempt to get a family photo.
I count to three. I make goofy faces. I smile. My children take it as their cue to let their personalities shine by making their own faces. Although it wouldn’t necessarily be Christmas card material… I can totally see my children’s personalities in the above photo.
Then, add Big Daddy to the mix and you add a whole other different level of crazy, goofy personality. We were supposed tobe taking a nice photo before church for my parents. It was supposed to be a nice family photo.
Well… this is what you get when you attempt to take a family photo with our goofy family. Perhaps I should hire someone to take our photo!? You know, because the holding your arm out as far as you can while you position your phone to take a family photo thing just isn’t working for us.

Love these pictures. Cute family. We do family pics twice a year. I want the fun free flowing kind, but no one does those here & it’s hard to do yourself.

Yes. I LOVe taking pictures. But it is SO HARD to be *in* the photo when you are doing a staged photo of the family (even if it IS fun). 😉 Perhaps the time has come where I need to pay someone else to do it for me/us. <3
Honestly, the last time we had a family photo was Christmas 2009 - when T was a newborn.

I love the crazy photo – I think it would be a fun one to actually add to a Christmas card. It reminds everyone that family is fun. 🙂
