Learning Healthy Habits With The @OrganWiseGuys (A Review & Giveaway of #TheOrganWiseGuys In The House Kit!) #homeschool

As a preschool homeschooling mom to two little boys, I often find myself focusing solely on the phonics and math side of academics.  I often slack on the other fun subjects such as science and history.  Not that I don’t enjoy them, I do.  It isn’t on the forefront of my mind when it comes to teaching my children the basics.

However, the subjects of science and health are super important and should not be forgotten.  That being said, I have been given an opportunity to review a product that has helped incorporate, teach, and challenge my children (as well as myself) to add healthy habits to our daily routines.

I have been reviewing, enjoying, and challenged alongside my children with the OrganWise Guys In the House! Kit.  This product comes with a super cute, colorful carrying case and 5 fun-filled informational books.

The OrganWise Guys In the House! Kit is a healthy behavior tracking program that helps families and their children become “OrganWise”.  The program has the children engage and learn about four different OrganWise “Rules” for seven days, all while tracking their progress.

These booklets include information about the healthy habit discussed for the week.  The information is presented in a comic book style, which my boys really enjoyed and got a kick out of.  Who knew that there is up to 10 tsp of sugar in one can of pop!?

There are two activities the children can do once they have been introduced to the weekly healthy habit challenge.  There is a scavenger hunt picture where the children are asked to seek and find images on the booklet.  My boys enjoyed working together to find all the images in their booklets.

There is also a coloring page at the end of the book that your child can color that depicts the particular healthy habit for the week.

At the end of the week, their hard work and gradual healthy habit changes will be awarded with a super fun surprise the next morning!  Plush OrganWise Guys!!

Organ Wise Guys In The House Kit!

The boys had a great time recording their healthy habits as well as learning about Hardy Heart (choosing low-fat foods), Peri Stolic (choosing high-fiber), The Kidney Brothers (choosing water) and Madame Muscle (choose exercise).

We do a lot of talk in our family about health and fitness and flexing our muscle.  This fun-filled learning activity was a huge hit for my boys.  They learned to flex their muscle with healthy habits using the OrganWise Kit!

I really enjoyed the kit.  I think it has some solid advice and key teaching principles for teaching children and families to live a fit and healthy lifestyle!  The boys really enjoyed the program as well as the talking points.  Of course, they enjoyed the OrganWise Guys plush figures.

We tend to model healthy behaviour without “teaching” it. My boys are still young and my oldest is just starting to understand healthy vs unhealthy. We do our best to live out the lessons we want them to learn.

Great post! my boys would love this!

Great post!
WE try to instill healthy habits by getting ours kids involved whenever possible! taking them on walks, hikes, rides. Having them help us plant and harvest a garden and making sure they help cook healthy meals.
