We all know that as we age, our bodies change. However, what I did not realize was how differently it can effect individuals. Of course there are health and body related changes with aging, but who knew that even the texture of hair can change!!
Not me!
When I was younger, pre-marriage and pre-kids, I had relatively straight hair. Not bone straight, but definitely not wavy or curly. The photo below is of me at one of my bridal showers. Yes, I am wearing bows on my chest… I was silly like that in my 20’s. #dontjudge
As I got older, I found that my hair began to show and hold some curl. It wasn’t totally curly but more of an uneven wave. I usually can use a flat iron to smooth it out, but there are some days where it is just easier to embrace the curl than to fight it.
Sunday as I was getting ready for church, I decided to embrace the curls and go with it. My husband calls it “frizz”. I call it a stylish messy do. Either way, it just might be the new me.
This mama doesn’t want to spend too much time getting ready in the morning… and if a wavy, curly head is what the new Rachel shall own. So be it.
I have found the biggest (besides physical body) changes for me post-children is the shape and texture of my hair! Who knew hormones and children would cause this change!

haha I have had curly hair most of my life wouldn’t it be fabulous if it straightened out as I got older? Sadly my straightener can attest it’s not happening! I like your curl though it’s soft.

I don’t think it looks like frizz! I think it looks like a cute stylish wavy style. My hair got wavier in my twenties…before kids. I also dropped half of a shoe size, which is totally random. I also escaped any feet size changes through two pregnancies…

I have pics of my stick straight hair too. After I had my second child it started getting curlier and after the third even more so. For years my mom asked me why I curled my hair like that because she didn’t like it. I’d explain that I wasn’t curling it and she didn’t believe me.
In my avatar I have straightened my hair. About two months ago my mom looked at me and said, why are you doing that to your pretty natural curls. :-* Really?
