How to Make Homemade Butter From Heavy Whipping Cream

by Rachel on September 3, 2012 · 2 comments

Happy Labor Day!  This weekend we have enjoyed lots of family fun and activities.  We have grilled, made homemade ice cream and more recently (this morning) made homemade butter.

When we make homemade ice cream, we use heavy whipping cream as one of our ingredients.  We always have left over.

Being a frugal mom, I included the boys in a mid-morning workout that included making our own homemade butter.

It is super easy.  Super frugal.  Super fun.  And it is a great arm workout!

Ingredients:

Container with a lid
Heavy Whipping Cream
*you can add extras like salt, sugar, cinnamon, or other if you desire

How To:

Pour the heavy whipping cream half full in the container
Close the lid – tight
SHAKE! hard and long until your biceps burn and are tired
Put container in refrigerator to allow the butter to harden

I am really impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one nowadays.
