FitSpiration Friday!!

Happy fitness inspiration Friday, where each Friday I introduce you to a fellow fitness inspiration from across the web.  This week I would like to introduce you to my friend, Clare.

Fitspirationfriday

I have Irish danced since I was 5 and always played sports growing up, but was never a big athlete. After recovering from anorexia during college, I decided i wanted to focus on being fit and healthy. Instead of easy elliptical workouts, I took a big leap and started to run during the Fall of my senior year. It was only a few miles at first, but I progressed to my first half marathon that spring! Since then I’ve completed a few more half marathons and even a full marathon in April 2011.

IMG_0091 Other fitness passions include Bikram yoga, which I try to do a few times a week, and currently more weight training. I’m in the middle of Jamie Eason’s Live Fit Trainer and am loving the strong feeling and new muscles showing up. I’m definitely into trying new things and hope to experiment with Cross Fit and even more types of yoga in the future.

The thing I LOVE the most about fitness in general is accomplishment! Whether it’s a long run, an increased weight, or holding a yoga pose, there is no better feeling than achieving something new. Until recently I would say that long runs were my absolute favorite way to work out, but I’m really getting the hang of this weight training thing and it might become a new addiction!

Find someone inspiring! For me it’s lots of other bloggers that motivate me to keep pushing and accomplish new things. Other healthy living bloggers have shown me that it IS possible to run a marathon, even if you’re not a life long runner, and that it’s okay (and good!) to lift weights with the boys.

Wow! I loved reading that post Rachel. It is really inspiring. I have also started working out. I am starting small since it has been many years since I did intense workouts.
