Tell me a little bit about your fitness journey

I started running about 8 1/2 years ago sort of out of the blue. I decided I was going to run a 5k. That turned into a half marathon and then a marathon and I was hooked. I’ve run 4 marathons and completed several triathlons (including a half-iron distance!). The past couple of years have been mostly about recovering from injuries, so my big goal this year is to rebuild my fitness and stay healthy. I’ve also become certified as a USAT triathlon coach and NSCA strength and conditioning specialist so that I can help others discover their hidden talent and passion for the sports I love so much.

What is your fitness LOVE?

Running! I spend a lot of time in the weight room, and I dabble in kickboxing, yoga, spinning and barre workouts, but running is what I absolutely love to do.

What is your ONE piece of fitness advice you find helpful to keep you motivated?

Things will feel hard before they feel easy. This has been especially helpful lately as I’m working on regaining my fitness after having knee surgery last year.
