Happy Fitness Inspiration Friday! Welcome to another addition of FitSpiration Friday where I introduce and share with you a fellow fitness inspiration from across the web. This week’s feature is my friend, Haley from Climb Run Lift Mom.
Tell me a little bit about your fitness journey
I’ve always loved working out! In high school I played softball and was all about hitting the weights in the gym. But I never became passionate about it until after my daughter was born in 2008. I’ve had some up and downs like anyone, but I’m probably more healthy now than I have ever been. My first love is my children, and my second is rock climbing. Since I I started climbing in 2009, my life has changed. My life is all about setting a good example for children, showing them being healthy and active is normal. I want them to grow up to be fit and adventurous adults.
Like my blog name (Climb Run Lift Mom) suggests, I do a bit of everything. I love climbing, and love hitting the weights in the gym and swinging my kettlebell around at home. Recently, I’ve taken up running (I used to be completely anti-running!) and will be running my first race ever, a half marathon, in February. And I also have a full marathon on the 2012 schedule as well. I also love all sorts of I’m also extremely passionate about yoga. Being a full time student and mommy kinda requires it 🙂
What is your fitness LOVE?
My main fitness LOVE is rock climbing! It’s an amazing full body and mind workout. Every muscle in your body from your fingers to your toes is worked out and it does amazing things for your mind and soul.
What is your ONE piece of fitness advice you find helpful to keep you motivated?
The one thing that motivates me more than anything else is my children. I want to be a good role model for the way they should live their lives. It’s monkey see, monkey do at their ages and I don’t want them seeing mama sitting on her butt, eating crap. I also want to be around for a very long time so I can be an active participant in their lives and their children’s lives.
