The past two years, JoggerMom puts on a virtual race for the month of May. You have 31 days to cover the distance of a marathon, 26.2 miles. She asks that you run the recorded miles. Not an issue for this running mom. It is not a timed race… just do your best, cover the miles, and challenge yourself to do your best.
I participated in the race last year and finished with a decent finish time. It gave me an idea of what I am capable of if I were to run an actual marathon. Which is still a huge fitness goal for me.
Over the course of the month, I covered the distance of two marathons. That is right… this mama was running! Six of those runs were while pushing my two youngest boys in the double jogger.

I enjoyed the motivation, encouragement, inspiration and challenge of covering a specific distance over the course of the month. I also liked that I challenged myself to running further than the set 26.2 miles. It just goes to show that you can accomplish anything that you set your heart and mind to! This mama to three little boys can run… and so can you!
Thank you Kelly for putting together such a fun virtual race again this year! I look forward to participating again in 2013!
